Amanda Stanton is standing by her decision to bring her young daughters to a Black Lives Matter protest

On Wednesday, The Bachelor star shared a photo of her and 5-year-old Charlie participating in a peaceful demonstration in Newport Beach, Calif. While many of her 1.2 million Instagram followers applauded Amanda for letting her and 8-year-old daughter Kinsley witness history being made, one commenter expressed their disappointment.

“I can’t believe you put your girls in an uncompromising situation and instill fear in their hearts just for shame. Shame on you!!” the Instagram user wrote, to which Amanda responded, “She was not scared and it was very peaceful. She was proud to make her sign and be there and I’m happy she got to experience the emotion and passion in everyone there.”

Amanda then posted a lengthier response to the criticism on her Instagram Stories.

“I understand not everyone is comfortable protesting or bringing kids and I totally understand that! I went back and forth on it and it was a decision I made so they could learn from an early age to use their voice and exercise their rights to stand up for something that’s so important.”

Describing the gathering as “peaceful and powerful,” Amanda continued, “No books or words can ever teach them the passion and emotion behind what they experienced today.”

“I hope it encourages them to be braver than I was growing up when it comes to using their voice and taking action,” the mom of two concluded.

Amanda told another commenter who asked if she witnessed what occurred, “We left 15 minutes before and are safe but I am so shook and saddened that happened. It really was such a beautiful and peaceful day.”

Designer Virgil Abloh has issued an apology.

On Monday, the Louis Vuitton men’s artistic director and founder of Off-White took to social media to address his previous comments about people looting, as well as his $50 donation to help protesters who needed bail money.

For some backstory: Over the weekend, Virgil uploaded a screenshot to his Instagram Stories—which has now expired but has been shared online—that suggested he only donated $50 “for kids in the streets that need a [sic] bail funds for the George Floyd protests.”

In addition, he also posted and commented on a video that showed Sean Wotherspoon‘s Round Two Vintage store being looted.

In one response, which has since been deleted but captured by online users, the 39-year-old designer wrote, “You see the passion, blood, sweat and tears Sean puts in for our culture. This disgusts me.”

He continued, “To the kids that ransacked his store and RSVP DTLA, and all our stores in our scene just know, that product staring at you in your home/apartment right now is tainted and a reminder of a person I hope you aren’t. We’re a part of a culture together. Is this what you want?? When you walk past him in the future please have the dignity to not look him in the eye, hang your head in shame….”

After facing backlash, the Off-White designer apologized for his comments and his donations in a seven-page statement that was shared on Twitter and Instagram.

“I apologize that my comments yesterday appeared as if my main concerns are anything other than full solidarity with the movements against police violence, racism, and inequality,” his statement read. “I want to update all systems that don’t address our current needs. It has been my personal MO in every realm I touch.”

“Yesterday I spoke about how my stores and stores of friends were looted,” he continued. “I apologize that it seemed like my concern for those stores outweighed my concern for our right to protest injustice and express our anger and rage in this moment.”

Moreover, Virgil also addressed the criticism over his donations.

“I also joined a social media chain of friends who were matching $50 donations. I apologize that appeared to some as if that was my only donation to these important causes,” he expressed.

The designer revealed that he has “donated $20,500 to bail funds and other causes related to the movement.”

“I will continue to donate more and will continue to use my voice to urge peers to do the same,” he went on. “I was on the fence about publicizing total dollar amounts because I didn’t want to look like I’m glorifying only higher amounts or that I want to be applauded for it. If you know me, you know that’s not me.”

The Louis Vuitton artistic director said he also plans to help in other ways.

“My particular aim is to change opportunities for young kids that look like me to design and ascend  to the same position I have,” he shared. “Some upcoming projects include: items releasing shortly where all proceeds support bail funds for protestors [sic]. A platform titled ‘Community Service’ launched earlier this year that support [sic] emerging black artists and designers with financial support and mentoring.”

Closing his message, he wrote, “I lead with love and move with respect to everyone I ever meet.”

The bigger the hair… the closer to god?

Former Bachelor alum, Amanda Stanton, is proving that she’ll go to great lengths for a killer new ‘do.

On Monday evening, the reality TV personality revealed that she drove to another state so she and her daughters could get their hair done.

Stanton, who lives in California, documented her glam session and travels to Arizona on her Instagram Stories.

“Drove very very far to get my hair done & may have peed on the side of a dirt road because I’m scared to use public restrooms,” Amanda captioned one of her pictures on Stories, which has since expired.

“But it was worth it,” another text read, with her adding that she felt “like a new person.”

Additionally, she snapped a pic of her and her 8-year-old daughter Kinsley‘s new hairdos, and shared it to her main feed. “never been so early to a hair appointment in my life,” she wrote.

Naturally, many criticized the Bachelor alum for not only going on a road trip but for also getting her hair done during the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.

However, the reality TV personality is defending her decision to travel to a different state.

“I’ve been very strict with staying home since 3/14. I haven’t even gone to the grocery store,” she said in a statement that was shared on her Instagram Stories on Tuesday.

Adding, “I hadn’t had my hair done since January and my hairstylist who I’ve been doing to for years JUST opened her salon. I thought I’d rather when she JUST opened than later when more people had been there.”

The reality TV personality also explained that she took some precaution and tested for COVID-19. She said it came out negative.

“We’re heading home and going to quarantine again before we see family or anyone,” she expressed. “Some might think this is going to great lengths to get my hair done but honestly, I have nothing else to do and isolating for a couple weeks when I get home was something I was willing to do.”

She added, “To each their own! I’m confident that I’ve been making responsible choices during this time and am proud of myself!”

The Bachelor alum also addressed those calling her out for uploading images and videos of her trip all over social media.

“[I] posted because I really don’t think I have anything to hide. I choose to be honest with you guys when I could choose not to be,” she went on to say. “I’ve seen so many people traveling by plane, hanging out in groups etc and doing much worse and not receiving ANY hate.”

Closing her statement, Amanda said she felt she’s been “really good” about doing her part throughout the pandemic.

At this time, hair salons and other beauty-related businesses continue to remain closed in California.

According to The Los Angeles Times, Governor Gavin Newsom announced that more businesses would slowly re-open next month, and hinted that salons are part of that plan. But it’s unclear how that will be executed.

All in all, it appears the reality TV star is already ahead of the crowd in that department.

Now PlayingUp NextHannah Brown Says the N-Word, Bachelor Nation Reacts

This rose is losing its bloom.

Over the weekend, Hannah Brown came under fire for saying the N-word during an Instagram Live session.

For a little refresher on what happened: The Bachelorette star recorded herself singing DaBaby‘s hit song “Rockstar” on Saturday evening. And while she skipped the F-word part of the lyrics, she seemingly forgot to do the same with the racial slur.

Moments later, she said, “”‘m so sorry… I was singing a song, I’m so sorry.”

“I don’t think I said that word, but now I’m like… Oh god,” she continued. “I’ve never used that word. I’ve never called anybody that… You can think I’m something that I’m not, but I’m not that.”

After receiving backlash from Bachelor Nation stars and fans alike, the reality TV personality issued an apology.

“I owe you all a major apology,” she expressed on Instagram Stories on Sunday afternoon. “There is no excuse and I will not justify what I said.”

She added, “I have read your messages and seen the hurt I have caused. I own it all. I am terribly sorry and know that whether in public or private, this language is unacceptable. I promise to do better.”

At this time, Hannah has kept quiet on social media since releasing her statement on Instagram Stories. However, a source is sharing with E! News how The Bachelorette alum is feeling in light of her actions.

Instagram

“Hannah is extremely upset and embarrassed over the situation,” the insider tells us. “She hadn’t realized what she’d done until after the fact, and is so disappointed in herself. It was a huge mistake and she feels awful.”

According to our source, The Bachelorette alum got in touch with her friend (and Tyler Cameron‘s BFF) Matt James.

“Hannah immediately reached out to Matt James and apologized for her actions. He was definitely taken back, but knows Hannah did not mean what she said,” the source shares. “They are close friends and have spent a good amount of time together and he knows it’s out of Hannah’s character.”

The source adds, “Matt is looking to the positives in the situation and wants Hannah to learn from this. Him and Tyler discussed things and they both agreed they know Hannah is not racist at her core, but both think she needs to use her platform to learn from this and spread awareness.”

On Sunday, James seemingly responded to Hannah’s actions with a caption on Instagram Stories that read, “Let’s spread love today.”

However, Cameron directly commented on the situation after Brown received backlash.

“In these moments, you have the opportunity to burry [sic] someone or lift them up. We need to lift HB up from this,” he wrote on his Instagram Stories on Sunday. “She is learning and growing just like every single one of us. Love rids hate. Hate only makes more hate. Let’s learn and lift each other up with love.”

Additionally, he referenced Rachel Lindsay‘s perfect take on why the N-word is deeply offensive and how she personally felt hurt by it.

“Rachel hit the nail on the head,” Cameron said on Instagram Stories. “Y’all need to go look at the comments. We have a long ways to go on this issue and a lot to learn. If you find yourself getting defensive, you are part of the problem.”

He added, “This is not about dragging HB. This is about using your platform for reasons like this. So we can educate those who don’t get it. This is bigger than HB. This is a societal problem.”

In Lindsay’s response, she revealed she spoke to Brown directly. She also pointed out how she’s “tired” of having to educate and address these issues.

“I never wanted to speak on this, I never wanted to say anything, I’m honestly tired of feeling like I have to speak because other people won’t… I’m personally offended by what was done…,” the former Bachelorette lead shared. “To start from the beginning, last night when everything popped off.”

“You know, it’s easy to make a statement… It’s easy to hide behind words but when you’re bold enough to say the N-word on camera, on your platform…,” she continued.

Adding, “Let me just say, when you’re bold enough to say the word on your platform, then you need to be bold enough to use your face on camera and apologize the same way you said the word.”

Former Bachelorette star Rachel Lindsay took to social media to educate Hannah Brown and her followers on why using the N-word is always out of the question.

On Sunday afternoon, following the backlash Brown received for using the racial slur and following her apology, Lindsay shared a “word” on Instagram on why non-black people should never use the N-word.

“You guys have to excuse my appearance, I just got off the Peloton because I needed to release some tension, I needed to release some stress,” Lindsay said on a video posted on Instagram TV. “I honestly… didn’t want to have to do this. To be honest, I’m tired. I’m so tired of feeling like I have to be the one to say something.”

It seems like Lindsay also had a word with Brown herself on why she should have never used the racial slur during her Instagram Live on Saturday night—even if she was just singing along to a song.

“I never wanted to speak on this, I never wanted to say anything, I’m honestly tired of feeling like I have to speak because other people won’t […] I’m personally offended by what was done… to start from the beginning, last night when everything popped off,” Lindsay said. “I didn’t see it but I woke up to a bunch of messages today, basically telling me what happened, so I tried to do something a little different. I thought instead of me dragging her [Hannah Brown], which is what people wanted me to do, and I’m not necessarily in the business of doing that.. I thought, let me just pull out a verse from the Bible.”

She added, “The Bible says in Matthew 18:15 that when you feel offended, you should go to that person and let them know that they offended you. So I did that, I thought, you know what, let me just speak to the person directly and let them know how I’m feeling,” she explained. “It’s not an opportunity to call someone out, it’s not necessarily an opportunity to drag them, it’s an opportunity to maybe educate them, to speak to them how you were personally upset about it… so that’s exactly what I did, never with the intention to come do an Instagram Live, I thought, ‘let me challenge this person to use their platform’ because last night it was used in a different way so let me challenge them to use it in a better way.”

“Maybe it was a mistake, maybe they didn’t realize the intention behind it,” Lindsay said. “So, let me give them opportunity to now use their platform to correct that mistake. I am personally hurt and offended that I gave someone the opportunity to do that and it wasn’t done. Now, I understand that an apology was made but when I know what could have been done, when I know what I challenged someone to do… they refused to do it, or they did not do it. I should put it that way, they did not do it.”

As a result, Lindsay then felt it was necessary to use her own platform to speak on the reason why the slur should not be used.

“You know, it’s easy to make a statement,” she went on, referring to Brown’s brief apology on Instagram Stories earlier this afternoon. “It’s easy to hide behind words but when you’re bold enough to say the N-word on camera, on your platform.. let me just say, when you’re bold enough to say the word on your platform, then you need to be bold enough to use your face on camera and apologize the same way you said the word.”

“I owe you all a major apology,” Brown said when giving her apology. “There is no excuse and I will not justify what I said. I have read your messages and seen the hurt I have caused. I own it all. I am terribly sorry and know that whether in public or private, this language is unacceptable. I promise to do better.”

Lindsay explained that while she wasn’t discrediting the apology, she doesn’t believe “we can keep giving people a pass for this.”

A word….

A post shared by Rachel Lindsay Abasolo (@therachlindsay) on May 17, 2020 at 3:56pm PDT

“We have to hold people accountable for what they’re doing,” Lindsay said. “And I am so disheartened and upset by the people who are now in my comments, the people who are in my DM’s to take it easy […] those are the same people who don’t look like me, who aren’t personally offended by that word, you should feel disgusted when you say that word. You should feel uncomfortable […] That word has so much weight and history behind it. If you don’t know, please do yourself a favor and educate yourself on that word.”

Lindsay also went on to say that Brown and others who cause this type of controversy should hold themselves accountable—as should their fans—for their actions and how they might hurt other people and other communities.

She concluded, “That word was used to make black people feel less than… it was used to make them feel inferior… and every time you use that word and you are not black, you give that word power, and that is why it is wrong. I don’t care if you are singing along to it in a song… Non-black people should not feel OK about saying that word. It’s wrong. You wouldn’t say it on TV. You wouldn’t say it in front of your black friends.”

Nick Cordero‘s wife Amanda Kloots has shared that the 41-year-old who is hospitalized for contracting coronavrius is “doing well” following his recent tracheostomy procedure.

On Friday, May 1, Kloots shared that doctors took Cordero off a ventilator and inserted a breathing tube. She added, “This is just amazing news because we really needed this to happen to get him off that ventilator…I think he will be feeling better, even subconsciously feeling better. I hope this is just a great sign for some good recovery days ahead and for him to wake up and just have that pressure relief from his throat. Thank God.”

This weekend, she shared another quick update on Cordero’s recovery process to her Instagram Stories.

“Good morning, everybody. Just wanted to give you a quick Nick update. He is doing okay, his vent settings are down, which is good, that’s a really good sign that he’s breathing is going well and um, the feeding tube that they put in, hes getting some nutrition—they’re seeing benefits of that which is great,” she shared.

She went on, “You know, yesterday was just basically about a day of adjusting to the trach and seeing how he was doing with it and leveling out these settings. Settings are down and he is doing well, so I’m just hoping for another day of rest and recovery, I think the more days he has of this might help his brain to wake up.”

She went on to share a touching story of when she and Cordero were in the delivery room for their son Elvis Eduardo Cordero‘s birth. Kloots also added that her son’s first birthday around the corner on June 10 and it’s her “goal” to get Cordero home for their little one’s big day.

I’ve recorded Elvis crying and I do play it for Nick.”

I said you know, ‘Call me when you want me to come pick you up.’ I didn’t even give him a kiss or a hug because we were also kind of self-isolating from him because we have this 10-month-old baby.” But about an hour later, Cordero called her to tell her he had been admitted.

“I feel like there is an army of people behind him, behind us,” she shared during the interview. “I just believe—I get chills saying it—I just believe that he will wake up.”

Nick Cordero‘s team of doctors are working diligently to figure out why he developed a fever overnight.

As the Broadway star remains in a coma nearly a month after he was first hospitalized with complications from COVID-19, wife Amanda Kloots returned to Instagram Stories with another update on his recovery.

“Unfortunately,” Kloots shared, “they are not able to remove the ventilator today and put the trach [tube] in because early this morning he got a fever that caused his blood pressure to drop slightly.”

She said that Cordero, 41, is back on a “little bit of blood pressure medication,” which he was previously no longer taking because his condition had improved.

“They are trying to just really make sure that this fever doesn’t really go anywhere, get out of control. They’re doing a couple tests to try find out the source of this fever,” Kloots said.

Amanda is confident that her husband is in great hands, as she concluded, “They have got it under control. They are working on him and taking good care of him, but they are going to set aside the ventilator removal until they get this under control. So please keep us and Nick in your prayers.”

Late last week, Cordero’s family finally got a bit of good news when the Waitress star tested negative for COVID-19.

Amanda celebrated the update, sharing on Instagram at the time, “…now we’re just dealing with recovery and getting his body back from all the repercussions of the virus.”

Cordero, who earned a 2014 Tony nomination for Bullets Over Broadway, was admitted to the hospitalized in late March after being diagnosed with pneumonia. He tested negative for coronavirus twice before doctors administered a third test, which came back positive. Then weeks later, Cordero underwent an emergency amputation procedure to prevent blood clotting in his right leg.

He’s remained unconscious for several weeks.

XXXTentacion “I’ve Been Mentally Alone For A Very Long Time”

XXXTentacion is speaking out amidst criticism about his mental state and why he is a troubled rapper.

The Lauderhill rapper has been having a successful year, but it comes at the expense of his life getting a lot more scrutiny. He was also embroiled in a number of controversies that took place this year like his recent fight with some guys that he thought were Migos and it turns out to be not them and he later had to apologize to Takeoff. He was also rocked with rumors of him being suicidal and some fans starting to think that its all a publicity stunt.

“I love the way people will throw negativity on my name but have no clue what I’ve been through,” he wrote on Instagram Stories. “Let me clear something up, the reason I don’t have a complete grasp on my emotions is because I’ve been through sh*t that has f***ed me up emotionally when I was younger. Imagine being at least 6 to 7 years old watching your uncle hang from a noose all because of a woman, and then having someone you f*** with killing themselves with no consideration at all to you. Solange Gets Apology After Calling Out Evening Standard Magazine for Photoshopping Her Braid Off of the Cover

ES Magazine

UPDATE: The Evening Standard issued a public apology to Solange, saying, “We were delighted to have the chance to interview the wonderful Solange Knowles and photograph her for this week’s edition of ES magazine. It is therefore a matter of great regret that the finished cover artwork of the magazine caused concern and offence. The decision to amend the photograph was taken for layout purposes but plainly we made the wrong call and we have offered our unreserved apologies to Solange.”

Solange has a message: don’t touch her hair.

Also, don’t edit it or photoshop it out. Well, that appears to be precisely what Evening Standard Magazine did when they featured the songstress on the cover of this week’s issue. On the front page that was published, the star poses with her hair in braids, sporting a pair of statement pearl earrings and a white ruffled top.

However, from the looks of the original photo Solange shared on her Instagram account, an additional architectural braided crown was edited out of the final cover photo. She later took to Instagram Stories with a repost of the cover and made her discontent known when she circled the blank space where the braid originally was.

The Grammy winner, who released the song “Don’t Touch My Hair” as part of her third studio album, captioned the original image on her account with the abbreviation “dtmh.”

Solange even spoke about the significance of hair braiding in her interview with the magazine, calling it “its own art form.”

“I got to experience women arriving in one state of mind and leaving in a completely transformed way,” she recalled to the magazine of her experiences at her mother’s salon. “It wasn’t just about the hair. It was about the sisterhood and the storytelling. Being a young girl who was really active in dance, theatre and on the swim team, the salon was a kind of safe haven.”

Meanwhile, the piece’s writer, Angelica Bastien, took to Twitter to reject the piece. “I am publicly disowning the Solange piece London Evening Standard published today. The entire piece was a fiasco despite my efforts,” she wrote on Twitter. “I told my editors to take my name off of the byline because they distorted my work and reporting in ways that made me very uncomfortable.”

“Disowning the piece this publicly is meant to get across my displeasure with what was published,” Bastien continued. “I don’t want this piece attached to my rep as a writer at all. Hopefully disowning it gets that across.”

The full interview appears in this week’s edition of ES Magazine, available now. E! News has reached out to the magazine for additional comment.

Cardi B Says She Was Kicked Out of Hotel in “Racist” Albany, NY and Accused of Smoking Weed

Cardi B says she was kicked out a Hilton hotel in Albany in upstate New York on Saturday after authorities accused her and her team of smoking weed, which she denies, adding that the allegation was racially-motivated.

Hotel reps declined to comment on the incident. Albany police confirmed to E! News that cops responded a report from the hotel but declined to give details. The incident took place after the “Bodak Yellow” rapper, who is from New York City, performed at Times Union Center in Albany, whose African-American population is less than 14 percent. No arrests were reported.

TMZ posted a video of Cardi B leaving the hotel. While walking, she called someone a “racist motherf–ker” and appeared to knock down a display.

“So me & my team got kicked out of this hotel in Albany cause my floor smell like weed mine You I hate weed,” she tweeted on Sunday morning.

She soon posted a series of selfie videos talking about the incident.

“You wanna know something? Albany is known for being racist,” she said. “The floor that I was staying in in my hotel room, it smelled like weed. So the cops came in the middle of the night, knocking on my manager and on my door, talking about that we were smoking weed and we gotta get kicked out.”

Cardi B said that she doesn’t even “talk about smoking weed” because “everybody knows that I do not smoke weed; I get very paranoid.”

“And none of my team members smoke weed,” she said. “We could all get drug tests—nobody smokes. Nobody smokes. Especially when I’m sleeping and…you’re not gonna do that to me. Mind you, everybody on the floor was Caucasian but you wanna kick us out.”

“And then n—as is just gonna pick out of everybody on the floor, Caucasians, that it was us that was smoking the weed in the middle of the night?” she said. “That s–t is not f–king right. Like, n—as was really being racists. Motherf–kers was being prejudiced and picking on who the f–k they thought that was smoking weed and you got the wrong f–king one. I’m telling you, I do not smoke weed.”

“And I really don’t want to be the one that pulls the ‘race card,’ like, ‘Oh, they did that ’cause they’re racist,’ but that is the only explanation that I could f–king find because I don’t understand, like, lemme tell you something, I don’t walk around with a whole entourage; it just be me, my manager, my security guard, the DJ and my dancers and nobody smokes weed,” Cardi B continued. “So for motherf–kers to just say like, ‘Oh, we’re kicking you guys out because there’s a smell of marijuana,’ so why don’t ya’ll search the room? And then they told us that earlier, there was some rap artist that was smoking weed and they got kicked out too. We’re not associated with them. So why- I just can’t. I can’t, really. I really can’t.”

Ahead of her rant, Cardi B had what appeared to be a drama-filled night. She shocked fans when she posted on Instagram Stories a video of herself that read, “Single.”

Cardi B, who is dating fellow hip-hop artist Offset, later wrote, “So listen babes, I exaggerated alil bit earlier cause I was really upset and the Bronx girl in me always have to go to the extreme. I came to my senses now. Im sorry…waffle house on me?”

She later wrote on Twitter, “Reasons why me and Offset got into it …I think he stoled my purple blanket but it wasn’t him so I’m still looking for the suspect.”

“Naaa but on a serious note I really loveeeee my man,” she added. “He was gifted to me from Jesus.”
