In three regions — the DPR, the LPR and the controlled part of the Zaporozhye region — more than 90% of the participating voters voted for joining Russia. In the Kherson region, 87% voted in favor

The authorities of the LPR, DPR, as well as the territories controlled by Russia in the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions reported that 100% of the votes cast in referendums on joining Russia were counted.

The voting results look like this:

  • LNR— 98.42% voted for joining Russia
  • DNR— 99.23% for joining Russia
  • Kherson region— 87.05% for joining Russia
  • Zaporozhye region— 93.1% for joining Russia

Voting in referendums began simultaneously in all four regions on September 23 and ended on September 27.

The turnout in all referendums exceeded 50% and the votes were declared valid. In particular, in the LPR it was 92.6% (excluding sites in Russia), in the DPR— 97.51%, in the Kherson region— 76.86%.

Before joining Russia, the Zaporozhye region intends to declare the independence of the entire region, Vladimir Rogov, a member of the main council of the pro-Russian military-civilian administration (VGA), argued, despite the fact that only 73% of the region’s territory is now under the control of the Russian military.

We have a slightly different situation than the LPR and DPR, Kherson region— immediately part of the Russian Federation”, — explained the head of the military-civilian administration (CAA) of the region, Vladimir Saldo.

Before the start of the referenda, President Vladimir Putin stated that Russia would support the decision of the inhabitants of the regions where the vote was taking place.

The West, in turn, said that it does not recognize the results of referendums in four regions. US President Joe Biden called the vote “a false pretext for trying to annex parts of Ukraine by force” and the White House considered it “an affront to the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity.” Washington also promised to impose new sanctions against Russia in the event of a referendum.

Serbia and Turkey spoke about their intention not to recognize the results of the plebiscite.

The United States did not consider the referendums the basis for banning Kyiv from using their weapons

Blinken was asked if the US would ban the use of its weapons against regions that held referendums to join Russia. The United States is not going to recognize the results of the referendums on joining Russia to the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions and will continue to support Kyiv in an attempt to return these territories, including with the help of its weapons, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said at a press conference.

< p>Blinken was asked if the United States allowed Ukraine to continue to use its weapons against regions where referendums were held if their inhabitants decided to become part of Russia.

“We and many other countries have already made it quite clear: we will never recognize the annexation of Ukrainian territories by Russia. And I also said equally clearly that Ukraine has the absolute right to defend its territory, including to regain the territory that was illegally seized in one way or another by Russia, — said the Secretary of State.

According to him, for Washington “there is no question” change of ownership of the territories of Ukraine. “Ukrainians will continue what they need to do to return the lands taken from them, we will continue to support them in these efforts,” — Blinken emphasized.

Earlier, US President Joe Biden called the referendums a sham and a “false pretext for trying to annex parts of Ukraine by force,” saying that the United States would never recognize their results. The White House considered the vote to join Russia “an insult to the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity.”

Referendums on joining Russia were held in the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions from September 23 to 27. The turnout in all four regions exceeded 50% and the voting was declared valid. After processing 100% of the ballots, joining Russia in the LPR was supported by 98.4%, in the Kherson region— 87%, in the Zaporozhye region— 93.1%. In the DPR, almost 57% have been processed so far, according to these results, joining Russia was supported by 94.7% of those who voted.

Media: pressure in Nord Stream could fall due to sabotage – pipes could undermine at the bottom

Peskov voiced the Kremlin's comment about the state of emergency at SP-2.

The media suggested that the cause of the pressure drop in both gas pipelines of the “Nord Stream” could have been sabotage.

According to the German edition Tagesspiegel, citing an insider in the German representative office of the project, an investigation is already underway, to which the country's federal security agencies have joined.

The authors report that “ everything testifies against” the fact that two state of emergency in a row & # 8211; it's just a coincidence. The source said that a scenario where what happened could not be “a targeted attack” cannot be imagined.

Recall that about the incident at “SP-2” became known from media reports. The incident happened on Danish territory, not far from Bornholm, on September 26.

The pressure in the gas pipeline dropped sharply, and after a while the same thing happened at “SP-1”. Since September 2, as “Gazprom” reported, due to a breakdown of the compressor station “Portovaya” gas is not pumping here, reports “Kommersant”.

The Danish Maritime Authority declared a dangerous zone for navigation and introduced a restrictive perimeter of 5 miles.

Local authorities, according to the source, believe that there was a sabotage carried out by special forces – divers or from a submarine. There are two versions of the attack.

The first – Ukrainian or Kyiv-related forces should be held responsible, the second – the sabotage was committed by the Russian Federation, but under the guise of “alien flag”.

According to RIA Novosti, Nord Stream AG estimated the state of emergency at “Nord Stream” and “Nord Stream-2” as an unprecedented situation.

According to the text of the appeal, the destruction that occurred on three gas pipelines at once is such that it is not clear when the infrastructure will be restored.

Speaking of leaks, Western media mention one in Denmark and two – on Swedish territory, while all of them are “close to each other”.

The Kremlin also reacted to the emergency. According to the official representative of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, the detected violations require immediate investigation, and are of concern to the presidential administration.

Peskov admitted that the pressure has dropped “significantly”.

“We are extremely concerned about this news”, – quotes him by the media.

The Kremlin speaker also stated that the nature of “some damage in the pipe” is still unknown.

Earlier, Topnews wrote that & #8220;Nord Stream” suspended by Russia for an indefinite period.

Sub-fence policy. Why building border walls is a sign of powerlessness?

The Finnish press announced its intention to build a fence on the border between Finland and Russia. According to Finnish journalists, the initiative comes from the Border Guard Service of the Republic of Finland. The head of this department, Lieutenant General Pasi Kostamovaara, said that the fence could be ready in two or three years and will last at least 50 years.

In general, purely technically, this is not difficult, since the border service proposes to fence off from 1/10 to 1/5 of the entire 1300-kilometer border between Russia and Finland. It is very possible to build from 130 to 260 km of fence in two or three years. Another thing — why? What will it give in the  perspective? And about what does the desire to fence off with a wall say?

Who is the first, Rome or China?

Pasi Kostamovaara explains the intention to build a fence with the prospect of a powerful migration flow to Finland, which without such a fence will be difficult, if not completely impossible to control. And he is, as they say, in trend — over the past 15 years, building fences at the border has become something of a national sport. The wall between the USA and Mexico, the walls between Greece and Turkey, Bulgaria and Turkey, Austria and Slovenia, Hungary and Serbia… All of them, from a purely formal point of view, are designed precisely to regulate migration flows. But if we consider the problem of walls and fences in historical perspective, then you can understand that the official declarations are something else.

In itself, the idea of u200bu200bto fence off with a fence falls into the category of “well-forgotten old”. In the memory of any person who is more or less familiar with history, a hook image of the Great Wall of China immediately appears, the construction of which began in III c. BC BC. e. At the other end of Eurasia, at the beginning of our era, construction begins on a smaller scale, but also impressive — the Romans hastily organize the German Limes, that is, a fortified border. Later it will be supplemented by the Danube Limes, the Walls of Adrian and  Antonin, the Trajan Walls, the Arabian and African Limes…

A famous quote from Rudyard Kipling«West is West, East is East, they never meet  in this case it misfires. And the West in the face of the Roman Empire, and the East in the face of the empire Qinvery much agreed. The point of their ideological contact was extremely important. Both empires saw themselves as a civilization that resisted the chaos and barbarism of the surrounding world. Here, behind a wall or limestone, order, law, law and the state triumph. Out there in the outside world — don understand that. Anarchy, lack of rights and lawlessness, hordes of bandits, murderers and rapists, it is possible that cannibals come across, and also people with dog heads. In a word, the wall has turned from a purely functional border structure into a symbol. A symbol that separates civilization from barbarism and horror. Separator of the “pure” from "unclean".

Go into deep defense

In addition, the wall fixed one more not so obvious, but interesting thing. Specifically — impotence of “civilization” before the “barbarians”. Wall — this means that the offensive has been stopped and that now we need to think no longer of "carrying our values" into the outside world, but about deep defense.

What what this led to, more or less everyone imagines. The famous Great Wall of China, or as the Chinese themselves called it, “an unbending powerful force”, was broken through by the troops of Genghis Khanin 1211  China has been conquered. Something similar happened with Roman limes — in early 5th c. n. e. it was broken through at once in several places, and after a while the “barbarians” done away with the Roman Empire.

That is from the point of pure functionality walls and fences work not to very well and sooner or later become simply useless. But as long as they exist, the world is divided physically and symbolically. And & nbsp; the one who builds the wall, respectively, signs in & nbsp; his own impotence in front of a certain problem. Perhaps this and for the currentPresident of the United States, Joe Biden stopped funding further construction and improvement of the fence wall on the border Mexico — this is a kind of symbolic declaration of intent to solve the problem, and not isolate itself from   it.

But this is almost an isolated case. In & nbsp; a couple of & nbsp; it can be put only the destruction of the Berlin Wall in & nbsp; 1989 & nbsp; It was a grand symbolic gesture. A gesture of goodwill, designed to demonstrate the desire of the USSR to solve problems together with the conditional collective West. The most interesting thing is that it all started for health. In 1990, US Secretary of State James Baker and German Chancellor Helmut Kohl assured Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachevin the fact that the unification of Germany will not lead to the expansion of NATO to the east. But what happened next is known to everyone — explosive expansion of NATO in precisely this direction.

It is symbolic that each of countries admitted to this military-political union considered it their duty to declare the construction of a fence on the border with Russia, or at least such an intention. Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland… The issue of Finland's joining NATO has not yet been fully determined, but the Finns have already announced the fence. Symbolically, the gesture is read immediately — all these states, with their fences, are shouting, signing loyalty to their overlords: “We are our own!” We with you, and not with Russian barbarians — you see, they even built a fence!»

In fact they sign the fact that they fully agree with the role imposed on them. This very role is very, very unenviable. Be a limitrope. Actually, the word itself goes back to the times of the Roman Empire. Limitrophes were then called areas that were obliged to maintain special units of imperial troops stationed on their territories. After the First World War, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland and Poland received this disparaging nickname from their owners — “Great Entente”. Now, hastily erecting fences on the border with Russia, these states are again trying on their unenviable infamous role — be a kind of sub-fence outskirts.

How did the referendums on joining four regions to Russia end?

Electoral commissions in the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions summed up the results of referendums for accession. What will follow the referendums and when the regions can become part of Russia – in the material RBC media=”(max-width: 320px) and (-webkit-min-device-pixel-ratio: 2), (max-width: 320px) and (min-resolution: 192dpi)” >

What were the results of the referendums

The Republic of Donbass, as well as the authorities of the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions controlled by the Russian military, summed up the results of the referendums on joining Russia.

Voting results look like this:

  • LNR— 98.42% voted for joining Russia
  • DNR— 99.23% for joining Russia
  • Kherson region— 87.05% for joining Russia
  • Zaporozhye region— 93.11% for joining Russia

The total turnout in the LPR, according to the local CEC, was 92.6%. In the DNR in the DNR— 97.51%, in the Kherson region— 76.86%, and in Zaporozhye— 85.4%.

The pro-Russian Zaporozhye and Kherson civil-military administrations intend to declare the region's independence within administrative boundaries. At the same time, in the Zaporozhye region, they control only the southern and central parts, the capital of the region— the administrative center of Zaporozhye is controlled by Kyiv.

How the voting went

The referenda went on for five days— in the first four days, voting took place in the adjoining territories and during the address bypass; on the last & mdash; September 27— on the plots. The organizers explained this decision for security reasons. By the evening of September 25, the referendums in the DPR, LPR and in the Russian-controlled territory of the Zaporozhye region were declared valid as a result of a turnout exceeding 50%: according to the central election commissions of the DPR and LPR, 77.12 and 76.09% of voters voted in three days, respectively. Kherson region exceeded the threshold of half the voters the next morning. Schools and colleges were on vacation during the voting period.

Polling stations for residents of the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions were opened in 84 Russian regions, there were about 600 stations, the CEC of Russia reported. Most of them were discovered in the south of Russia. CEC Deputy Chairman Nikolai Bulaev spoke of “hundreds of thousands of people” who are forced to stay in Russia and wish to vote. In total, more than 4 million people have arrived in Russia from the zone of military operation since February, Ombudsman Tatyana Moskalkova noted.

At the polling station, one had to present a passport or other document proving one's identity and confirming one's residence in the territory of one of the republics or regions. Residents of the Kherson region who lost their documents voted on a photocopy of their identity card if they were included in the voter lists, and citizens without documents could bring witnesses who would confirm the residence of the voter in the territory, explained the head of the local CEC Marina Zakharova.

Significant part of the voters was added to the lists additionally directly at the polling stations. “In particular, in polling stations formed abroad, the lists are compiled from scratch, that is, every citizen of the republic who comes to vote is entered into them,” — said the head of the Central Election Commission of the DPR, Vladimir Vysotsky, adding that some of the voters could not be taken into account initially.

When the regions can become part of Russia

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said on September 27 that all Russian authorities are ready to join the country with new regions. State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin promised that the House would support the decision to join the DPR and LPR to Russia, if it is adopted.

Following the results of the referendums on joining the LPR, DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, the authorities planned a rally in the center of Moscow, sources told RBC. It is tentatively scheduled for September 30, where Vladimir Putin is scheduled to speak. This can be combined with the signing of an agreement on joining Russia with the LPR, DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.

The Federation Council may consider the entry of new subjects into Russia on October 4, speaker of the chamber Valentina Matvienko said, adding that she does not see the need for an extraordinary meeting of the chamber. Andrey Klishas, Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Constitutional Legislation and State Building, also noted that the need for “artificial acceleration of the constitutional procedure for the admission of new subjects to Russia” no. Klishas added that the inclusion procedure would require amendments to the text of the Russian Constitution.

The head of the LPR, Leonid Pasechnik, has already announced plans to visit Moscow with an appeal to Putin. According to Pasechnik, he hopes that “today-tomorrow” will go to Moscow. The head of the Zaporozhye region, Yevhen Balitsky, and the head of the military-civilian administration, Volodymyr Saldo, also announced their intention to visit the capital of Russia after the announcement of the results of the referendum.

Russian legislation contains a procedure for joining a new entity— foreign country or part of it. Admission to the composition takes place on the basis of an international treaty, before signing which the President of Russia notifies the Federal Assembly and the government. After the conclusion of the agreement, the President applies to the Constitutional Court with a request to assess the compliance of the agreement with the Constitution. If the court finds no violations, then the contract, together with the draft federal constitutional law, which defines the name of the new subject, its status, boundaries, transitional provisions, is sent to the State Duma, and then to the Federation Council. After the adoption of the document by the Houses of Parliament in Art. 65 of the Constitution is amended— the names of new subjects of Russia are added there.

What will change after the joining of subjects

After joining the republics of Donbass and the territories of the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions controlled by Russian forces, Moscow will no longer conduct a special military operation, but a “counter-terrorist operation on its territories,” said the head of the Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov. He also expressed the opinion that these territories could have been annexed without holding referendums, since their inhabitants “have long been determined in their legal choice.”

The Kremlin reported that after the referendums on joining the DPR, LPR, as well as the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions of Ukraine to Russia, “dramatically” the legal status of these territories will change. The situation will change “with all the relevant consequences for the purposes of protection and security in these territories,” Peskov noted.

A wave of public euphoria about this seems unlikely so far, the head of the Petersburg Politics Foundation believes. Mikhail Vinogradov. “To put it in sports language, the citizens approached the referendum not at the peak of their form. Therefore, there are no signs so far that the expansion of borders can cause a surge of positive, commensurate with the Crimean one or with how the hypothetical demobilization would be perceived, — said the political scientist RBC.

The topic of legitimacy will not be paramount in interpreting the referendum, Vinogradov added. “Everyone who feels the need to recognize it has actually already recognized it,” — he noted. According to the political scientist, referendums and partial mobilization were declared as two elements of one event. “In the first week of partial mobilization, there were expectations that the Russian authorities were trying to seriously accelerate the dynamics of the conflict with these actions. However, will Moscow be able to cope with this growing dynamics and these two solutions have created a synergy that strengthens the Russian position,— this is still a question on which there is no unequivocal opinion, — the political scientist concluded.

How Ukraine and the international community reacted

The position and task of Ukraine do not change due to the holding of referendums on joining the DPR and LPR to Russia, as well as in the territories of the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions controlled by Russian troops, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said. In early September, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Irina Vereshchuk said that Ukrainians would face a prison term for participating in referendums. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stressed that holding referendums would make it impossible to continue diplomatic negotiations with Russia.

French President Emmanuel Macron said that referendums in the Donbass and other regions “will not have legal consequences, and called them a “parody.” The authorities of Germany, the USA, Great Britain, Poland, Estonia, Turkey and a number of other countries also announced the non-recognition of the results of the referendums.

The UK imposed sanctions against 33 persons associated with the organization of referendums in the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions .

Acting Military Commissar of the Jewish Autonomous Region (JAO) Dmitry Kuchabsky explained how people who did not serve in the army fall under partial mobilization in the region.

experience, served. I draw your attention: first of all, who served and has combat experience. Citizens who have not served are in reserve and are subject to conscription for mobilization, — he explained in a video posted on the telegram channel of the regional government.

According to him, non-serving men in the autonomy join the army voluntarily. “Yesterday I was talking: there are those who did not serve, they said: “I want, I will go, I voluntarily go on mobilization. We have no right to refuse them or push them aside, — Kuchabsky explained.

According to him, the age categories of the reserve, indicated in the law, do not determine “who goes first.” «Everyone is equal»— noted the acting military commissar.

“But we are well aware that the citizen served five years ago and 20 years ago. The one who served five years ago is more prepared, more trained, and we are trying to work more with these citizens, especially with those who have combat experience, this is very important, — Kuchabsky continued.

Partial mobilization was announced in Russia on September 21, 2022. In the decree of President Vladimir Putin, there were no specific instructions on who and in what quantity should be mobilized. It stated that the mobilization is carried out in accordance with the law “On mobilization training and mobilization in the Russian Federation”. According to this law, citizens who are in the reserve and do not have the right to deferment are subject to conscription for military service for mobilization. The decree itself says that Russians working in organizations of the military-industrial complex and only for the duration of such work will receive the right to deferral.

Foreign Ministry allowed Russia to participate in the investigation of the accident at Nord Stream

So far, no such proposals have been received, said Deputy Minister Alexander Grushko. The readiness to support the investigation was declared in Brussels, and both there and the Kremlin do not exclude that a targeted attack led to the damage /02/756643562474022.jpg 673w” media=”(max-width: 320px) and (-webkit-min-device-pixel-ratio: 2), (max-width: 320px) and (min-resolution: 192dpi)” >

Russia is ready to participate in the investigation of incidents at Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2, if offered, said Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko.

“If there are any appeals, we will consider them. So far, there have been none, as far as I know, — said the Deputy Minister (TASS quote).

On the night of September 26, a sharp drop in pressure was recorded in one of the lines of Nord Stream 2, which was never put into operation without obtaining permission from Berlin and Brussels. Then the operating company Nord Stream reported a pressure drop on both strings of Nord Stream. (gas pipeline transportation has been suspended for an indefinite period since the end of August).

The company subsequently attributed the pressure drop to the unprecedented disruption. There have been leaks from gas pipelines, “it is not yet possible to estimate the timing of restoration of the gas transmission infrastructure.”

At the same time, seismologists from Denmark and Sweden, in whose territorial waters leaks occurred, recorded powerful explosions.

The Kremlin admitted that a targeted attack could have caused the damage. Possible sabotage was announced by EU diplomat Josep Borrell and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, as well as Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. The Swedish authorities also believe that the leaks were the result of “explosions, probably caused by sabotage.”

Latvia has introduced a state of emergency on the border with Russia and strengthened border control

Latvia has introduced a state of emergency on the borders with Russia and strengthened border control measures Latvia has increased the number of patrols on the borders with Russia, and also introduced a state of emergency in the regions closest to it for three months. The Cabinet of Ministers explained this by the outflow of Russians from the country after the announcement of the mobilization -width: 320px) and (-webkit-min-device-pixel-ratio: 2), (max-width: 320px) and (min-resolution: 192dpi)” >

Latvia has declared a state of emergency (ES) in areas that border Russia. This is stated in a message on the website of the government of the republic.

The Cabinet of Ministers explained that, in general, the situation on the border between Latvia and Russia is stable, however, after mobilization was announced in Russia, the number of Russians wishing to leave their country “significantly increased”. “Thus, there is a risk of a rapid increase in the number of illegal migrants on the Latvian-Russian border as well. Purpose of emergency measures— preemptive preparation for such a risk,»,— The message says.

The emergency regime came into force on September 28 in the Aluksne, Balvi and Ludza regions of the country and will last for three months. It also applies to airports, sea and rail border crossings.

The measure will allow border guards, in case of need or a sharp increase in the number of migrants, to quickly attract additional resources: the police, the State Security Service, as well as the country's armed forces.

In addition, Latvia will close the Pededze border crossing, strengthen border surveillance and border control. In particular, the number of patrols will be increased to prevent illegal border crossing.

Since September 19, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Estonia have banned the entry of Russians who have tourist Schengen visas, including those issued by third countries. Exceptions are provided for those who cross borders for humanitarian reasons, for diplomats, for those visiting relatives, and for truck drivers.

In announcing the introduction of the state of emergency, the Latvian government announced that the number of Russian citizens wishing to enter Latvia is declining. Since September 19, 57 Russian citizens have been denied entry into the country. “Not a single Russian citizen crosses the Latvian border as a tourist. The circle of persons who are allowed to cross the external border of the EU as an exception is determined in accordance with the agreement reached by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the countries of the region, and in accordance with the decision of the Government of Latvia, — the government says.

Taliban agrees with Russia on gas supplies to Afghanistan

The Taliban managed to negotiate with Russia on the supply of food and fuel. The exact terms of the deal are unknown, in August the Afghan government did not rule out that they would pay with raisins and medicinal herbs .png 673w” media=”(max-width: 320px) and (-webkit-min-device-pixel-ratio: 2), (max-width: 320px) and (min-resolution: 192dpi)” >

The Taliban holding power in Afghanistan (recognized as terrorist and banned in Russia) entered into a trade agreement with Russia. This was reported to Reuters by the Acting Minister of Trade and Industry of Afghanistan, Haji Nooruddin Azizi. According to him, the Taliban government is now working to diversify its foreign trade relations.

As part of the deal, Russia will annually supply the country with about 1 million tons of gasoline, 1 million tons of diesel fuel, 500 thousand tons of liquefied hydrocarbon gases ( LPG) and 2 million tons of wheat, he said. Azizi did not name the exact price of the contracts, but said that Russia offered the Taliban a discount compared to the average world prices for raw materials.

The agreement will remain in effect for an indefinite trial period. After it, the parties will have to sign an agreement for a longer period if they are satisfied with the results.

RBC sent inquiries to representatives of Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak and the Ministry of Energy.

< p>On June 15, representatives of the Taliban visited the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. Among the Taliban negotiators who arrived were the deputy head of the Afghan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mohammad Younis Hossein, and the head of the Afghan diplomatic mission, Jamal Nasir Garwal. One of the goals of the visit was to negotiate the supply of wheat to Afghanistan.

In August, Azizi said that the Afghan authorities intend to negotiate with Moscow on the supply of fuel to the country. The Taliban are ready to pay for Russian oil with minerals, raisins and medicinal herbs Azizi said. If such a scheme does not suit Moscow, then Kabul can also pay with money, he noted.

The Kremlin recalled Biden’s promise to get rid of Nord Stream

Assumptions about Russia's involvement in the accidents on the Nord Stream gas pipelines in the Kremlin called “predictably stupid”.

“It is quite predictable and predictably stupid and absurd to express such versions <…> Both lines of Nord Stream 2 filled with gas, all systems are ready for pumping, and this gas is very expensive. <…> This gas costs a lot of money, and now this gas is escaping into the air, — Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.

According to him, the Russian authorities do not yet understand what happened to the gas pipelines.

“If I am not mistaken, we do not yet understand that repair. How can we predict repairs if we do not understand what to repair. We don't understand what happened there»— he said.

At the same time, the Kremlin spokesman recalled the February statements of US President Joe Biden, who promised to get rid of Nord Stream. But the Kremlin, according to Peskov, does not yet know what the head of the White House had in mind.
