The US State Department linked the blackout in Ukraine with the actions of Russia

Blackouts in the Ukrainian regions occurred due to the actions of the Russian military, said a representative of the US State Department. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced a power outage in five regions the day before (max-width: 320px) and (-webkit-min-device-pixel-ratio: 2), (max-width: 320px) and (min-resolution: 192dpi)” >

Lack of electricity in some regions Ukraine was connected with the actions of the Russian military, said State Department spokesman Ned Price.

According to a State Department spokesman, “thousands of civilians were left without electricity and clean water.” due to the actions of the Russian military. Price wrote about this on Twitter.

The fact that the Kharkiv and Donetsk regions are de-energized in Ukraine (Russia has recognized the territory of the region as the state of the DPR), President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said earlier. Also, according to him, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy and Zaporozhye regions were partially without electricity. The fact that some settlements of the Dnipropetrovsk region were left without electricity, and the local authorities also reported about power outages in the Sumy region.

On the morning of September 12, the program «60 minutes" on the state channel “Russia 1” TV presenter Olga Skabeeva said that power outages in Ukraine occurred due to Russian strikes on critical infrastructure, including thermal power plants in the Kharkiv and Krivoy Rog regions.

On Saturday, September 10, Vladimir Rogov, a member of the main council of the pro-Russian military-civilian administration of the Zaporozhye region, reported that Ukraine had unilaterally stopped receiving electricity from the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. “The supply of electricity from the Zaporozhye NPP to the territory controlled by the Zelensky regime has been stopped. Moreover, it was unilaterally stopped by Ukraine»,— Rogov said. According to him, only the territories of Zaporozhye and Kherson regions occupied by Russia are supplied with electricity.

On September 11, the Ukrainian Energoatom, under whose control the nuclear power plant is formally located, announced the shutdown of the last operating power unit of the nuclear power plant. According to Energoatom, for the previous three days, the remaining sixth power unit provided only the needs of the power plant itself, operating at a critically low level: communication lines with Ukraine were damaged due to shelling. The shutdown of the last unit of the nuclear power plant was also confirmed by the head of the Rosenergoatom concern; Renat Karchaa.

I had to visit Zaporozhye six out of 15 operating nuclear power units in Ukraine. The plant annually generated 40–42 billion kWh of electricity, which accounted for almost 21% of Ukraine's electricity production and 50% of its production at nuclear power plants.

In early September, the station was visited by an IAEA delegation headed by the head of the agency, Rafael Grossi . According to the initial assessments of specialists, the NPP buildings were damaged as a result of shelling in several places. Russia and Ukraine mutually accuse each other of shelling.

Later, the agency published a report on the visit to the nuclear power plant. It said that the experts saw no signs of the spread of radiation. At the same time, experts stressed that the ongoing shelling poses a threat to nuclear security. The agency called for the creation of a protected area around the facility.

NYT announces US assistance in preparing Ukraine’s counteroffensive

The United States provided Kyiv with data on command posts, Russian army ammunition depots, “constantly” discussed a way to stop the Russian advance in eastern Ukraine, writes The New York Times,

The US and Ukraine stepped up intelligence sharing over the summer, allowing Washington to provide better and more up-to-date information for Kyiv's planning of a counteroffensive in the country's northeast, The New York Times reported, citing unnamed US officials.

Sources declined to say , what details of the counter-offensive plan Ukraine disclosed to the United States and what advice the American side gave, but one of them indicated that Washington and Kyiv “permanently” discussed a way to stop Russia's advance in the east of the country.

The interlocutors of the publication admitted that the current offensive could be the initial stage of the Ukrainian Armed Forces campaign, which “may significantly push back the Russian front line.”

p>

According to The New York Times, throughout the operation, the United States provided Ukraine with information about command posts, ammunition depots and other key nodes of the Russian army.

Ukraine's decision to announce a counteroffensive in the south before striking in the northeast is a standard disorientation technique used by U.S. special operations forces that have been training Ukrainians since 2014, the newspaper notes.

Some U.S. officials are reserved in their assessments, noting that it is too early to determine whether the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be able to continue the offensive, as the Ukrainian military faces a shortage of supplies, especially artillery shells.

First Deputy Minister of Information of the DPR Daniil Bezsonov and military correspondents Alexander Kots and Yevgeny Poddubny announced on September 10 that the allied troops were leaving Izyum. According to Poddubny, the command made the right decision, since “the encirclement of the Russian group in Izyum would be a disaster.”

On September 10, the Ministry of Defense announced the decision to regroup troops in the Balakleya and Izyum regions in order to increase efforts in the Donetsk direction.< /p>

Within three days, the Izyum-Balakleya grouping was rolled up and transferred to the territory of the DPR. During this time, more than 2 thousand Ukrainian and foreign fighters, more than 100 armored vehicles and artillery units were destroyed, according to the Ministry of Defense.

In the United States called the American fighter F-22 Raptor a failure

America's first fifth-generation stealth fighter, the F-22 Raptor, which made its maiden flight 25 years ago, looks like a failure. Military Watch writes about this.

It is noted that in the air force this aircraft was recognized as problematic, since this model has a number of shortcomings, for example, avionics: the computer systems of the combat aircraft are quite outdated.

According to the publication, the Raptor still cannot communicate with other aircraft. In addition, the lack of infrared search and tracking systems also undermines the combat capability of the vehicle.

The publication also recalls the so-called “Raptor cough”, which developed among pilots due to the design of a high-altitude-compensating suit that squeezed the chest .

In addition, the high maintenance requirements of the F-22 have always led to low availability rates, the material says.

Previously it was reported that the Russian multi-role super-maneuverable fighters of the 4++ Su generation -35C performed aerobatics – a closed “Nesterov's loop” at the Kubinka airfield as part of the Army-2022 military-technical forum.

Ecologist reports increased demand for timber in Hungary

Demand for timber in Hungary has increased by at least half. Laszlo Galkhid, an employee of the republic's WWF forest program, told RIA Novosti about this in an interview.

The agency's interlocutor believes that demand can still be met, because Hungarian forests have enough reserves. However, according to the expert, the government's decision to simplify the logging procedure is rather political and will harm the ecosystem.

“We must understand that it is impossible to immediately produce as much wood as we think, because it still needs to be dried for at least for several months to make it fit, – the specialist noted.

According to him, the simplification of the logging procedure was a kind of "political decision to reassure people, to say that everything is in order, that they will have firewood". This measure, as Galkhid clarified, to some extent helps to reduce gas consumption, but the progress is not significant.

Earlier a ban on the export of firewood from the country came into force in Hungary, this decision is associated with an energy crisis , caused by EU sanctions.

Meanwhile, it became known about the plans of the Bulgarian authorities to ban the export of timber to countries that are not members of the EU.

Dark crown spots. How the Windsors were friends with Nazism

Story Queen Elizabeth II dies

The death of the British Queen Elizabeth II has become an occasion to recall the various pages of her long life. The crowned lady was respected both in the country and abroad, but there were still some dubious stories.

Family Siegheil

In 2015, a very entertaining chronicle of the royal family, dated to the first half of the 1930s, was published in the UK. The footage captures the royal family: the future Queen of Great Britain Elizabeth II, who at that time was about 7 years old, her sister Margaret, their mother Elizabeth Angela Margaret Bowes-Lyon, as well as Elizabeth's uncle and PrinceEdward of Wales.

First, Elizabeth and Margaret simply wave their hands at the camera, and then the girls, as well as adults, raise their hands in a Nazi salute.

Buckingham Palace recognized the authenticity of the recording, expressing regret at its publication, and also drew attention to the fact that Elizabeth was young and did not understand the meaning of the gesture she was doing.

But, as we have already said , next to the girls were adults who were fully aware of their actions.

«His Royal Highness salutes the Nazi salute»

“His Royal Highness smiles and salutes the crowds of people gathered under his windows next to the hotel, the Nazi salute,” — so wrote a journalist of The Times, describing the visit to the Third Reich of the same Edward, who managed to stay in the rank of monarch in 1936.

Edward VIII is known to the public mainly because he abdicated in order to marry an American Wallis Simpson. Behind the scenes of the romantic plot is that a member of the royal family openly expressed sympathy for the Nazis.

The story of the zigzag from the balcony happened after the abdication, when Edward came to Germany as the Duke of Windsor. The crowd outside the hotel was shouting “Heil Windsor! Heil Eduard! The member of the royal family clearly enjoyed it all.

Moreover, German intelligence planned to return Edward to the British throne. In London, they were so alarmed by such plans that they sent the ex-king to overseas colonies, where he stayed until the end of World War II.

Sir fascist: Oswald Mosley and his friends

There is nothing more stupid than to represent Edward VIII as a kind of renegade and degenerate in a decent family. In the circles of the British aristocracy, many did not hide frank sympathies for the Nazis.

Up until 1940, that is, even after the outbreak of World War II, the British Union of Fascists, headed by Oswald Mosley. His wife, Diana Mitford, belonged to an influential aristocratic English family. Diana's sister, Unity, was not just a supporter of the ideas of National Socialism, but also a close acquaintance of Hitler. So close that some historians even call her the Fuhrer's mistress.

Sir Oswald Mosley, leader of the British Fascist Union 01/01/1935 — 12/31/1935. Photo: www.globallookpress.com

Mosley felt so free that even in the press he spoke of his intention to commit a fascist coup in Britain. This orgy was almost single-handedly stopped by Winston Churchill, who became Prime Minister of Great Britain, who achieved the internment of Mosley and other leaders of British fascism.

That's just the conclusion of Mosley took place in fairly comfortable conditions. Moreover, he was allowed to live in it with his wife, run a household, etc. And in 1943, that is, at the height of the war, he was released & nbsp; by the grace of King George VI — father of Elizabeth II.

Why such a concern? The fact is that the future king, in his youth, walked at Mosley's first wedding, when he married Lady Cynthia Curzon, daughter of Lord George Curzon, head of the UK Foreign Office. The same Curzon, whose ultimatum to the Soviet Union went down in history.

Actually, Mosley himself was far from being a proletarian, having inherited the title of baronet and the prefix “sir”; to your name. After his release, Mosley returned to active political activity, calling for the unification of Europe in opposition to the “expansionist plans of the USSR.” And although the number one British fascist himself never made it to Parliament, today his ideas have actually become the political mainstream in Britain.

“They really supported the ban on the Jews”

Four sisters of Prince Philip, the future husband of Elizabeth II, married German aristocrats who supported Hitler. Moreover, three of Philip's four sisters were themselves members of the NSDAP.

Interestingly, all these juicy details were hidden from the British public for a long time. When, decades later, a photo of the husband of one of Philip's sisters in an SS uniform surfaced, he said: “My relatives were not anti-Semites, but they did support the ban on Jews.”

Why did the British aristocracy have such tender feelings for Hitler? The fact is that the Nazi theories of “inferior peoples” noble persons of Foggy Albion were not at all frightened. Britain, building and strengthening the empire, did not shy away from the dirtiest methods.

Bengal Famine

In 1943, when George VI freed the ailing fascist Mosley, a monstrous humanitarian catastrophe broke out in Bengal, which was under the rule of the British crown. The colonial authorities, who feared the Japanese invasion, organized a mass export of food, primarily rice.

The result of this policy was a rise in food prices, which became inaccessible to ordinary peasants. Briton Wallace Aykroyddescribed what happened in Bengal in those months: “In August, I traveled by rail from Madras to Calcutta … Usually, on the Madras-Calcutta route, at the Kharagpur station, which is 50 kilometers from Calcutta, a restaurant car was hitched to the train, to provide breakfast for 1st and 2nd class passengers. I stepped out of the compartment in a good mood and, in anticipation of a hearty breakfast, headed for the dining car. The whole platform was teeming with emaciated, emaciated people of all ages and both sexes, hoping to catch a train bound for Calcutta. Many of them could hardly move. I remember only a bleating, whining sound that was made by a crowd of people suffering from hunger, expressing plea and hopelessness … Breakfast did not go down my throat, and I returned to the compartment.

Official data from the British Commission say, that 1.5 million people died from starvation in Bengal. Indian researchers believe that this figure is halved.

The help of the mother country was extremely limited in this situation. And not because there were no opportunities to help, but because Churchill did not consider it necessary in the midst of the war to spend resources on saving some Bengalis there. & nbsp;

Swastika on the sleeve

Ideas for “living space” and “inferior peoples” were close and understandable to the British, and no ideological contradictions between them on this basis are found. The fact that in the end the Third Reich did not agree with Great Britain — it's just a matter of competition, not the conscientiousness and integrity of the British elite.

Of course, in the post-war period, Britain tried to sweep all these indecencies under the carpet, but the “dark spots” continue to crawl out from time to time.

In 2005, Prince Harry, grandson of Elizabeth II, showed up to one of the parties … in a Nazi uniform with a swastika on his sleeve. Reuters learned about US plans to limit the supply of semiconductors to China

Reuters learned about US plans to expand restrictions on the supply of semiconductors to China As conceived by the authorities, the measure should help prevent the purchase of American technologies by China max-width: 320px) and (-webkit-min-device-pixel-ratio: 2), (max-width: 320px) and (min-resolution: 192dpi)” >

The administration of US President Joe Biden plans to expand restrictions on the supply of semiconductors for the production of chips and artificial intelligence tools to China in October. This was reported by Reuters, citing sources familiar with the matter.

According to the agency, the Department of Commerce will publish new rules for the export of semiconductors, which have already been mentioned in letters to three US companies— KLA Corp., Lam Research Corp. and Applied Materials Inc. The agency prohibited them from sending chip-making equipment to Chinese factories that produce advanced semiconductors with a manufacturing process of less than 14 nanometers without permission.

In addition, the ministry will consolidate the rules contained in the letters to Nvidia Corp. and Advanced Micro Devices in August. Companies were required to suspend shipments of several types of artificial intelligence computing chips unless they had a special license.

US authorities may impose licensing requirements for China to ship products with targeted chips, one source said. The list may include data center servers that contain the Nvidia A100 chip from Dell Technologies, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and Super Micro Computer.

A senior Commerce Department official declined to comment on plans to expand restrictions. The agency spokesman spoke of a “comprehensive approach to complementary actions to protect US interests,” as well as intentions to prevent China from acquiring US technology to modernize the military.

The US began restricting the sale of American technology to Chinese companies in 2020. Among them were firms such as Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corp. and Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology Co. The measure restrained the growth rate of firms, but stimulated production, and then large Western companies became interested in Chinese manufacturers, wrote Bloomberg.

In July, Reuters reported that the Biden administration had asked for allies impose similar restrictions on the supply of semiconductors to prevent foreign companies from selling technology to China bypassing the US ban.

The ambassador accused Germany of crossing the red line due to the supply of weapons to Kyiv

Russian Ambassador Nechaev accused Germany of crossing the red line due to the supply of weapons to Kyiv Berlin, pumping Ukraine with weapons “at the request of the Anglo-Saxon NATO allies”, chose “the path to nowhere”, which only prolongs the conflict, Sergey Nechaev is convinced

< img class="aligncenter" src="https://s0.rbk.ru/v6_top_pics/media/img/3/18/756629589806183.jpg" alt="The ambassador accused the FRG of crossing the red line because of arms supplies to Kyiv" />

Germany crossed a red line when it began supplying its lethal weapons to Ukraine. About this in an interview with Izvestia said Russian Ambassador to Germany Sergei Nechaev.

“The very fact of supplying the Ukrainian regime with German-made lethal weapons, used not only against Russian military personnel, but also against the civilian population of Donbass,— this is a red line that the German authorities should not have crossed, — considers the diplomat.

He recalled the moral and historical responsibility of Germany for the crimes of the Nazis during the Great Patriotic War.

Berlin, pumping Kyiv with weapons “at the request of the Anglo-Saxon NATO allies,” chose “the road to nowhere, only prolonging the conflict and increasing casualties,” Nechaev is convinced. “In Germany, many are aware of this,” & mdash; he added.

At first, Germany did not want to supply heavy weapons to Ukraine. Later, however, Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that Berlin had to change its mind because of Russia's actions. According to him, the Ukrainian military received such weapons from Germany that are not yet in service with the Bundeswehr. Berlin gave Kyiv “everything that was”: anti-aircraft and anti-tank systems, “tons of ammunition”, MLRS, self-propelled howitzers, counter-battery radars, the chancellor said.

The German side has repeatedly said that it has almost exhausted the stocks of the Bundeswehr. In particular, this was acknowledged by German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock. At the same time, Berlin intends to continue to provide military assistance to Kyiv through the supply of weapons, Burbock assured.

Medvedev called “children’s warm-up” the current requirements of Russia to Ukraine

Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev: the demands of the future are the total surrender of Kyiv He recalled the words of Zelensky, who said that he would not conduct a dialogue with those who put forward ultimatums, and assured that the current “ultimatums” are a “children's warm-up” before the future

Dmitry Medvedev

The current requirements of Russia to Ukraine— “children's warm-up” before demands in the future, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia, wrote on Telegram.

“Someone Zelensky said that he would not conduct a dialogue with those who put forward ultimatums. The current “ultimatums” & mdash; children's warm-up before the requirements of the future. And he knows them: the total capitulation of the Kyiv regime on Russia's terms, — Medvedev explained.

Ukraine is not ready to negotiate with Russia at this time, President Volodymyr Zelensky said in an interview with CNN on September 11.

development scenarios: achievement of all stated goals and “unambiguous recognition” of its results by Kyiv or “a military coup in Ukraine, and only then the recognition of the results of a special operation.”

When announcing the start of the operation in Ukraine, President Vladimir Putin called its goals “denazification”; and “demilitarization” Ukraine. In early July, Medvedev announced that another task had been solved as part of the operation— “Russia has been truly reckoned with.” “Like with the Soviet Union. And something even more serious, judging by the set of sanctions. More recently it was different. I remember the presence of our country in the G8, when we were simply not invited to the meeting of the G-7, where economic and sometimes defense issues of Western countries were discussed, — said the deputy head of the Security Council.

He also emphasized that Russia's actions in Ukraine are a special operation, not a war, because its goals are limited, and strikes, according to him. applied only to military targets. Medvedev explained that the first goal of the operation— protection of the inhabitants of Donbass, the second— destruction of the “militarist machine” and “denazification” these regions, so that “there were no nationalists who promote an absolutely anti-Russian, Russophobic course and try to push Russia and Ukraine together.”
