The nutritionist called the products that provoke migraines

Cheese, chocolate, smoked fish, fried and salty foods can cause migraines. About this “Moscow 24” said nutritionist Mikhail Ginzburg.

The expert noted that the causes of migraine are not fully understood. There is an assumption that an overabundance of bioactive components, in particular tyramine, which is found in a number of products, can lead to vasospasm.

Ginsburg said that migraine has its own “triggers”. At the same time, for all people, these may be different foods that should be avoided.

The specialist recommended following a dairy-vegetarian diet, eating foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids. You should use less salt, sugar and spices. It is important to give up alcohol.

The nutritionist added that food in solving the problem of migraine – it's not the deciding factor. People who suffer from it should see a neurologist and start taking medication.

Earlier, neurologist Pavel Khoroshev said that people who suffer from migraine should limit the use of certain foods that provoke headaches.< /p> Rate the material

Unusual school day. Young Muscovites were shown how scientists work

On 9 September as part of Study Day in the City” classes were held for Moscow schoolchildren at scientific institutes, university laboratories, museums and metropolitan technoparks.

The events were timed to coincide with the Decade of Science and Technology. The guys were incredibly interested: not even every adult has the opportunity to touch science — learn how the everyday life of scientists is organized, how scientific experiments are carried out, and take part in them yourself. Science can be understandable and fun. And how many directions it turns out to exist!

“When a student sees how scientific laws, formulas and hypotheses are applied in practice, he is inspired to create, invent, gain new knowledge, — says deputy head of the Moscow Department of Education and science Alexander Tverskoy.        the students of the schools were shown in what conditions the advanced science of Moscow and the country is being created, the guys got acquainted with modern equipment in laboratories and asked scientists a lot of questions».

Young Muscovites were welcomed at research centers and at the training grounds of Russia's leading universities. The National Research Technological University MISiS, MIREA — Russian Technological University, National Research University MPEI, Russian National Research Medical University. N.I. Pirogova and others. It is important that in  scientific and educational institutions, children not only observed the workflow of researchers, but and discussed the choice of a profession and preparation for entry into universities.

And about how this school day went for schoolchildren who happened to spend it in museum, "AiF" Alfred Vardazaryan, the head of the scientific popularization department of the Museum of Cosmonautics in Moscow, said ."We prepared in advance, came up with events and  arranged logistics in such a way as to accept as many schoolchildren as possible, because there were a lot of applicants — he notes. — The Cosmonautics Museum opened on this day, two hours earlier than usual. At & nbsp; 8 & nbsp; o'clock the first schoolchildren came. Throughout the day at the Museum of Cosmonautics and at the House-Museum of Academician S.P. Korolev, more than 50 excursions, 3 lectures “First in space! The first in football”, organized jointly with PFC CSKA. 14 classes took part in“Study Day at museum” (teachers held museum lessons for schoolchildren in physics, mathematics, Russian language, literature and other subjects). There were film screenings and quests. In total, over 3 thousand people visited us. schoolchildren».

Moscow pays special attention to supporting science. All conditions have been created in schools to interest children in scientific research. You can enroll in pre-professional engineering, academic, medical, entrepreneurial, cadet, pedagogical, sports, media, and IT classes. Within the framework of the capital project "Scientists in"schools" representatives of science — from young scientists to academicians of the Russian Academy of Sciences — tell students about the best Russian developments. Young Muscovites can attend meetings with leading scientists of the country at Scientific Saturdays — one of directions of the city project «Saturdays of the Moscow schoolboy». Employees of universities and scientific research institutes participate in another popular science project addressed to schoolchildren: «NAU. Guide to science in Moscow». Its basis — a system of video courses supplemented by articles by scientists and science journalists.

“Knight of the Revolution” or “Iron Supply Manager”? Who was Felix Dzerzhinsky

145 years ago, on September 11, 1877, a man was born, the mention of whose name is still capable of dividing any audience into two unequal parts. However, these very parts will still be equal to at least one parameter — by  the degree of mutual hostility, and then and hatred. Person's name — Felix Edmundovich Dzerzhinsky.

One side considers Dzerzhinsky a bloody executioner and a sadist who, having led the Cheka, gave free rein to his dark psychopathic instincts. Another part — a bright knight of the revolution, who, perhaps, had to give orders for executions, but only for the cause. And if you figure it out, then maybe he didn shoot a little…

Both those and them actively recruit supporters, but I don don't want to join to one side. For the simple reason that they are both fantastically ignorant. The level of their knowledge and thinking was perfectly conveyed by writer Vladislav Krapivinin & nbsp; his autobiographical story “Once they played”: “For a long time I” was sure that the name “Dzerzhinsky” spelled without the letter «z» — “Derzhinsky”. My elder brother told me about a revolutionary hero who was famous for catching enemies of Soviet power and spies. — Ah! So that's why it's such a name! — happily guessed I. — When he caught him, he shouted: “Hold him!”

In general, everything is clear — in Dzerzhinsky they see only exclusively the Chairman of the Cheka — All-Russian Extraordinary Commission for combating counter-revolution and sabotage. If you like — “Chief Chekist” who runs around shouting: “Keep him!” Well and, of course, he treats those whom he “holds” according to the laws of the revolutionary time…

Such delusions can be readily forgiven to children. Unfortunately, recently, adults have to forgive them too. In any case, to those who draw information from Internet encyclopedias, who say this about Dzerzhinsky's occupation: “Professional revolutionary, political figure.”

This is the very half-truth, which is much worse than a direct lie. Dzerzhinsky spent almost nine years in the highest echelons of Soviet power — from December 1917 to July 1926  And now let's see what exactly Iron Felix was doing. Until  April 1921, he really was only the Chairman of the Cheka and People's Commissar of Internal Affairs. In  April 1921, a purely economic — — People's Commissar of Communications. And in February, 1924, he ceasing to deal with railways, as he takes the post of Chairman of the Supreme Council of National Economy — Supreme Council of the National Economy. And works in as until their death.

Even a cursory review shows that "only a Chekist" Dzerzhinsky was less than four years old. And & nbsp; held high economic positions for more than five years. By and large, he should not be called "Knight of the Revolution", but, for example, "Iron Supply Manager". Or, say, the “Knight of Industrialization.”

It was here that the talents of this extraordinary person were truly revealed. He proved himself to be a manager of the highest caliber. Especially when you consider that he didn received any specialized education.

In 1921, many railway workers, having learned about Dzerzhinsky's new appointment, fell into horror. Firstly, “a terrible security officer, he will put him against the wall.” Secondly — well obviously is not a man in his place! What does he know about railroads?

Dzerzhinsky smashed both of these theses with a single, but certainly the right move. Until  the famous phrase of Comrade Stalin “Cadres decide everything” remained 14  years. Yes and Iosif Vissarionovich himself against the background of Dzerzhinsky was then barely visible. It is quite possible that the People's Commissar for Nationalities Affairs was just looking at Dzerzhinsky's actions, shaking his Caucasian moustache.

The fact is that Dzerzhinsky began his work not with sleepers, not with rails, not with materiel and fuel, but just with cadres. The doublet was perfect — The following people were immediately invited to the People's Commissariat of Railways for the role of leading specialists. Ivan Borisov. Former Privy Councilor, Comrade (Deputy) Minister of Railways of the tsarist government. And following  — Alexander Liverovsky, Minister of Railways of the Provisional Government. Both — class enemies. In theory, our chief Chekist, who is also a "fanatic and sadist", should immediately waste them . However, this is what the real Dzerzhinsky, and not drawn in someone's imagination, thought and said: “The main thing is to find great responsible specialists, regardless of their political views, if only they would work honestly.” After the first same conversation with Dzerzhinsky, the “class enemy” Ivan Borisovimbued with & nbsp; great respect for him and & nbsp; himself begins to actively attract old specialists: «You in vain you worry, gentlemen! You can work with Dzerzhinsky, if, of course, you work honestly".

Please note — and in the words of Dzerzhinsky, and in the words of Borisov the key concept — “honest work”. What meaning did Dzerzhinsky put into this concept, being already at head of the Supreme Council of National Economy — the largest economic structure of the state?

Familiarizing today with his business correspondence, with his speeches and decisions, sometimes you think that now such a person would be very handy.

“I was recently told that in one of the largest trusts up to 40% of the funds are spent on the upkeep of the apparatus in comparison with what is paid to the workers. This organization is no good if it makes such an expense for its maintenance. It seems that these words of Dzerzhinsky will be willingly signed by hundreds and thousands of modern workers, strangled by the “management revolution”, when there are up to a dozen incomprehensible “development directors”, “communication managers” for one really working person. , "promotion consultants" and other parasites.

And  here are a few words of Dzerzhinsky about  the work of the apparatus of officials: &ldash; mountains of papers and & nbsp; hundreds of thousands of hacks; captures of large buildings and premises; car epidemic; millions of excesses. This is legal feeding and devouring state property — this locust. In addition to this, unheard of, shameless bribery, embezzlement … ” Are need comments here? Hardly.

Well but his speech at XIV Moscow Provincial Conference of the Russian Communist Party (b) looks and at all as if it was spoken today: “The issue of import and export is one of the most our most difficult and most dangerous sectors… In order not to fall into bondage from foreign capitalists, who follow every step and    they will immediately try to use it, for this we must work hard».

What is a new lunar mineral discovered by the Chinese?

Expert Response 0 + –

China National Space Administration and National Atomic Energy Agency of China announced that they were able to isolate lunar soil samples brought to Earth by a mission two years ago “Chang'e-5”, a new mineral. It was given the name “Chang'e Stone”.

In  December 2020, the capsule of the Chang'e-5 spacecraft (named after the Chinese goddess of the moon) delivered 1731 grams of lunar soil to the Earth. Scientists who examined the samples reported that these are the youngest lunar rocks ever studied. They even managed to find a small amount of water.

The discovery of a new lunar mineral was announced on the eve of the Mid-Autumn Festival, which is traditionally associated with the moon and falls on September 10 this year. “This mineral was the sixth new mineral discovered by humans on the Moon. Our country became the third in the  world to discover a new mineral» — said on the website of the China National Space Administration.

After analyzing the lunar soil, Chinese geologists isolated a single-crystal particle about 10 microns in size from it and deciphered its structure. So it turned out that this was a mineral previously unknown to scientists. The discovery has already been confirmed by the International Mineralogical Association.

“According to the announced research results,” Chang'e Stone “, which has the shape of a columnar crystal, belongs to” phosphate minerals. Chinese scientists suggested that it contains particles of lunar basalt, — commented for opening colleaguesHead of the Department of Research of the Moon and Planets of the State Astronomical Institute named after Sternberg Moscow State University, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Vladislav Shevchenko.   From the practice of terrestrial geological research, it is known that phosphate minerals are most common in magmatic rocks, i.e. rocks associated with volcanic eruptions. At present, it is believed that the eruptions of basalt rocks on the Moon as a result of volcanism ended 3.2 billion years ago. However, according to some research data, at the landing site “Chang'e-5” it was possible to find lunar rocks much younger — 1.2-1.5 billion years old. Thus, the discovery of Chinese scientists, perhaps, will force us to reconsider the existing ideas about the history of the evolution of the Moon.

It becomes all the more valuable when you consider that in the same sample of lunar soil delivered by the automatic station “ Chang'e-5”, water particles were previously detected».

I am a Russian officer. The story of scout Shabis, wounded but not broken

“Argumenty i Fakty” Weekly No. 36. It's just tough 07/09/2022 Story Russian special operation in Donbass and Ukraine < p>

34-year-oldChief of Intelligence Anton Shabis was wounded twice in Donbass.               he  burned alive in the eyes of his wife. The second serious injury overtook Shabis in April of this year. He is in the hospital now, but does leave thoughts of returning to the front line.

Major Shabis — one of those on whose shoulders lay the first months of the SVO, who liberated Kherson. For two months, Anton did not take off his berets, he slept dressed in an embrace with a machine gun. Although I slept — loudly said: sitting dozing, listening to every changing environment.

Anton dreamed of becoming a military man since childhood. And he didn change his decision. Photo from the archive of A. Shabis

«Waiting for you in any way»

Wife TatianaI learned about the injury of my husband from his colleagues. “While Anton was at the front, I lived from one phone call to another. He always ended the conversation with the words: “Everything will be fine.” And I said: “Waiting for you in any form, just come back”. But the last time he answered, “I will try my best”. And I understood: Anton is going to have something serious».

After the first wound, Shabis had a burn of 25% of his body. “They did a skin transplant. Recovery took six months. My husband has learned to walk again. Set a goal for yourself — return to system. It is in the army that Anton is in his place.  can't picture him as someone else — only an officer.

In 2016  Shabis as a volunteer defended civilians. He was the commander of a reconnaissance company of one of the brigades of the People's Militia of the LPR, participated in combat operations in Debaltseve direction and assault of Lisichansk. “Anton was wounded before my eyes. In & nbsp; his armored personnel carrier – & ldquo; eighty & rdquo; an ATGM shell arrived, — continues Tatiana. — Anton was already on fire, but managed to get out of the car. I tore the cloak — it melts quickly, and then it would have to be torn off together with skin. Rendered first aid».

Anton's wife comes from  Lysichansk, in militia since 2014  When the Ukrainian army captured the city, Tatyana left with the resistance forces. I first saw Anton on the front line, where she brought medicines. She was a medical officer in reconnaissance. He explains: “No, it wasn't love at first sight. It’s just that Anton turned out to be a person with whom it was possible to communicate on various topics: he has a good education, he is well-read. For subordinates, he and commander, and father, they behind he like a stone wall».

We gradually got closer. One day, Tatyana found out that Anton asked not to take her on a dangerous mission. “I understood that I was worried about me, but asked me not to do that again.” He appeared beautifully: "He came home from the task and took wild flowers out from under his helmet. On the front line, he covered my ears with his hands so that I could rest at night: there something rumbles all the time».

After the injury, when Anton lit up like a torch in front of Tatiana's eyes, she accompanied him to the hospital. «The doctors then said: that everything the course is ordered for you  — remembers Anton.   But I got better and returned back to my special forces brigade». From the hospital, the couple went to Shabis' hometown of Stavropol. “There, after visiting the hospital, Anton offered to go to the registry office. It turned out that rings had already been bought from him, he seized our passports and arranged for us to be painted immediately. For me, everything was a complete surprise. I thought: it’s good that in the morning I chose a white sundress, and not jeans.

In the direction of Kherson and Nikolaev

In that same 2016, Shabis transferred to Crimea — first to the coastal defense brigade, then to the intelligence department of the Army Corps Directorate as part of the Coastal Forces of the Navy. In 2022, he came to serve in Volgograd, to the position of intelligence chief of a motorized rifle regiment. “Two days after my arrival, NWO began. Together with the regiment in first ranks through the Crimea, I set off in the direction of Kherson and Nikolaev. In March, our troops advanced to Kherson fairly quickly, —  he says. — Enemy air defense units inflicted significant losses on our aviation. The task was set — detect and neutralize Ukrainian S-300 systems. We we searched for them for several days and discovered the location of the anti-aircraft missile battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We got into a fight. I destroyed the chief of staff of this division, a lieutenant colonel. Then they burned all the S-300 systems».

In April, the battles for Alexandrovka — the westernmost village of the Kherson region. The reconnaissance group of Shabis moved there at night to ensure the passage of the main forces. A subdivision of the Armed Forces of Ukraine came to their group. A battle ensued: “We” destroyed part of the enemy, and “then corrected the fire of our artillery, which covered the rest.” Shabis scouts entrenched themselves on the outskirts, while about 300 military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were defending in the center of Aleksandrovka in the school building. “The enemy decided to unblock these units. We caught ourselves between a hammer and anvil: “dill” We were in rear and put tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, pickup trucks with machine guns and local territorial defense infantry into action. Our reconnaissance detachment went to an area promising for the passage of a sabotage group. We took a position and expected that sooner or later someone would pass there. And so it happened. A battle ensued, during which we destroyed the saboteurs and their commander with call sign “Dog”. They confiscated an American radio station, on which someone periodically asked: “Dog”, where are you?” This DRG had more than 30 anti-tank missile systems, including American Javelins, Western-made machine guns. If were they to pass through us, the Armed Forces of Ukraine would be able to unlock their own, who are surrounded».

“You walk under God”

At the end of April, stubborn battles continued in Aleksandrovka. Major Chabis received two bullet wounds when he led his unit into the attack. The bleeding is severe. The doctors said: “You walk under God: it was lucky that the bullet in the stomach passed 5 cm from the vital internal organs.” The second bullet completely shattered the bone in the right shoulder…

When you ask him about  front-line everyday life, he admits: «The worst — enemy artillery. The constant feeling that you will now leave — and you will be hit by fire. They will then look for you for spare parts within a radius of 100 sq.m. The guns are hammered during the day and  at night. Nevertheless, Shabis does not leave thoughts about the front. Tatiana, who came with her 4-year-old son to to the husband hospital, doesn pretend: “I don't want Anton to return to the front. But I know that if there is the slightest opportunity, he will do it. A I — officer's wife. And I will support my husband.

For the displayed heroism, Major Anton Shabis was presented to two Orders of Courage and medals For Courage».

Anton's friend from Military University of the Ministry of Defense Sergei Gorbachev< /strong> says that Anton's fate could have turned out differently: “Our year of graduation — 2010, when there were massive reductions in the army. Before graduation, we, young officers, were told to write resignation reports. Someone is now working as a flight attendant, someone has become a businessman, someone is making a movie. And Anton rested: “I — Russian officer. And I will defend the Motherland — Russia”. And protects».

Good nature, “kushka” and “meadow”. What memory did the Russians leave in California

200 years ago, on September 11, 1812, under cannon and rifle salute, the official opening of the Russian colony in California, founded in March, took place. She spent all these several months nameless and received the name only six months later. Russian fortress “according to the lot drawn before the icon of the Savior” was named Fort Ross.

Alexander I did not honor Napoleon with an answer

The day was also chosen for a reason. September 11 — it's new style. In the old way, it comes out on August 30 — Name Day of Alexander I, Emperor of All Russia. Which, judging hastily, was absolutely not up to the gun salute in honor of the opening of some colony there, 15 thousand miles away. Rifle and cannon fire at that time was heard much closer — the volleys of the Battle of Borodino barely had time to subside. And in three days the troops of Napoleonwill enter Moscow. What is California like here?

However, it turns out that the colony was founded very timely. Just from Moscow, Napoleon offers the Russian Emperor peace — on absolutely enslaving terms. The Corsican did not wait for an official answer — too much honor. But on the sidelines, Alexander I had the opportunity to express everything he thought about the proposed peace: “I’d rather lead a militia of peasants, grow a beard for myself, eat only bread and retreat fighting to Alaska, but I won’t sign such a peace!”

The intention is commendable. But in order to retreat to Alaska, one must have this same Alaska at one's disposal. And in order to eat at least “one bread” at the same time, it is necessary to make sure that this very bread in Alaska is in abundance and that it is imported not from Russia, but from some territories closer. The colony in California was just intended to supply Russian Alaska with bread, and food in general.

With all seriousness of intentions

I must say that attempts to gain a foothold in California were also made before. And at a very high level. Father of Alexander I Emperor Paul Iperfectly understood the importance of the colony in California for the development of Russian America. Evidence of that — events of July 1799. On the 8th, the emperor signed the Decree on the founding of the Russian-American Company, and on the 15th, that is, exactly a week later, he declared war on Spain, which laid claim to all of California. Not a single shot was fired in this war, and therefore it is perceived as a kind of curiosity, hastily hushed up after the tragic death of Paul I.

However, Russia has clearly indicated its intentions regarding California. Commander Nikolai Rezanov, the same one who in 1806 achieved an engagement with the daughter of the commandant of San Francisco under the muzzle of Russian guns, wrote shortly before his death: “If in 1799, when war was declared to the Gishpan court, our company was in the appropriate forces, it would be easy to take advantage of part of California before the Santa Barbara mission, and to keep this flap forever behind us … Now there are still lands that are just as profitable and very necessary for us. If we miss them too, what will posterity say?

In a word, the founding of Fort Ross was an attempt not to miss the “necessary and profitable lands.” The leadership of the Russian-American company must be given its due — they did not hesitate. In 1811, a native of the city of Totma, a desperate traveler and businessman Ivan Kuskovbuys about 400 hectares of land from the Pomo Indians of California, giving away three blankets, three pairs of trousers, two axes, three hoes and several strings of beads. The price, of course, is ridiculous, and Ivan Aleksandrovich could be reproached for the “shameless deception of the unfortunate natives.” But there is one caveat. Russian land all the same bought, albeit at a ridiculous price. But the Spaniards, who laid their hands on almost all of California, took the land for that, and even threatened with weapons.

For good memory

Incidentally, the good memory of the Russians was entrenched among the Californian Indians for a long time. Vasily Aksenov's story “Non-Stop Around the Clock”, written after a trip to the USA and published in 1976, contains a direct speech by the American linguist, professor of Slavic studies at UCLA University, Dean Worth: “The word “cat” has long been known in California. The Indians who lived in the San Francisco area called the cat “kushka”, spoon — “luzhka”, in general, they had a lot of Russian words in their vocabulary…»

Which, in general, is not surprising. Compared with the Spaniards, the Russian colonists were, for the Indians, if not “white and fluffy”, then very close to it. Naval officer Dmitry Zavalishin, who visited California in 1824, had the opportunity to compare the life of the Indians near Fort Ross and in the Catholic mission of San Francisco, where he studied Spanish under the guidance of the head of the mission, Padre Thomas. So — Judging by the memoirs of Zavalishin, the Indians always saw Russians as their intercessors: “The Indians were very fond of good-natured Russian sailors, and especially generous and affectionate officers. I know that every visit to the mission was a holiday for them. As it happened, missionaries do not bargain with me, but I will still ask someone for forgiveness or mitigation of punishment for disciplinary offenses.

Scientist, entrepreneur and one of the directors of the Russian-American Company Kirill Khlebnikov expressed himself in a higher style. In his letter to Alexander Pushkin, which was sent three weeks before the death of the poet, Khlebnikov noted: “The brave but cruel Spaniards with a cross in their hands in the name of God eradicated idolaters. Rough and strong Russians with a cross on their chests made it a sin to destroy the wild in vain.

Here, of course, one can refer to the fact that this information belongs to interested and biased people. But here is what the French merchant Auguste Bernard Du Scilly, who visited Fort Ross a year after its foundation, wrote: “I did not find here either disorder or rudeness, which, alas, are not uncommon in the Spanish presidio. Opposite — well-roofed, beautiful houses, neatly planted and palisaded fields, and a perfectly good-natured atmosphere.

There was simply not enough strength

In 1836, the population of Fort Ross numbered 260 people. It consisted of “56 Russians, 115 Creoles, 50 Aleuts and 39 baptized Indians.” In the conditional “Russians” due to race, a completely unexpected Englishman by blood Nick Betre — apparently, a runaway sailor from an English ship, who found shelter and understanding among the Russians along with the “baptized Indians”.

Everything would be fine, but it was a drop in the Spanish sea surrounding the land of Fort Ross. Yes, all foreigners who ever visited the Russian colony in California were delighted. Englishman Frederick Beachyso he wrote: “Their new settlement in Ross is an example to all California of what industry and labor can bring here.” But there were simply not enough Russians. The colony provided for itself and even sent food to Alaska, as intended. But there were too few Russian colonists. Perhaps the matter could be corrected by the project of the Chief Ruler of Russian settlements in America Alexander Baranov, who in 1817 believed: “Someone of the patriots who sympathize with our cause could buy at least 25 families peasants who, for resettlement in America, will be given freedom and arable land near Fort Ross. However, this project remained a — permits for “adventure” was not given.

All this led to a sad result: “Due to the clashes between the Spaniards and Americans with the Russian colonists and the lack of support of the latter from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Russian-American company had to leave their settlements in California.” In 1841 Fort Ross was sold for $30,000 to a Swiss entrepreneur Johann Sutter. Seven years later on the lands of John Sutter — this name was taken by this Swiss — the famous California gold rush broke out.

Anniversary of Dzerzhinsky. Why does Russia need the return of the Iron Felix?

Plot World History with Andrey Sidorchik

“If you look at our entire apparatus, if you look at our entire management system, if you look at our unheard-of bureaucracy, our unheard-of fuss with all sorts of approvals, then from all this I come straight into horror… You can't work like that!»

For whom is he an enemy?

These words are still relevant, although they were uttered almost 100 years ago, on July 20, 1926. The speaker was so keenly worried about this topic that he became ill. On the same day he died. Thus ended the life of Felix Edmundovich Dzerzhinsky.

The attitude towards this figure may well serve as an indicator of the seriousness or infantilism of a person. The demolition of the monument to Dzerzhinsky on the Lubyanka became a symbol of the August events of 1991, and at the same time a symbol of the collapse of the Soviet Union, to the creation of which the “Iron Felix” had a direct bearing.

The monument was demolished, because in the minds of the “democratic public” Dzerzhinsky was the creator of punitive organs and a conductor of terror. And in the minds of the champions of imperial Russia, he was a despicable revolutionary who destroyed the state.

The difference between the revolutionaries of October 1917 and those who are trying to appropriate this status now is colossal. For Dzerzhinsky — this is not only a person who wanted cardinal changes, but who perfectly understood how and on what principles to implement them.

The mission of the “proletarian Jacobin”

The young Soviet state in the first months of its existence faced not only compatriots who saw the future differently, but also foreign intelligence agencies who did not want to see Russia in a strong and stable capacity — neither with the Bolsheviks, nor without.

Yakov Peters, Dzerzhinsky's deputy for the Cheka, later recalled: . But Lenincalled Dzerzhinsky … “a proletarian Jacobin.” Felix Edmundovich after the meeting sadly remarked that if he is now Robespierre, then Peters — Saint-Just, apparently. But neither of us is laughing…»

With 23 personnel and a house with broken windows as headquarters, that is, from absolute zero, the history of the Soviet special services began. At that moment, no one could believe that these enthusiasts would be able to resist the experienced counterintelligence officers of the White Army, and even more so the British and other foreign “well-wishers”.

Railways and Homelessness

But in just a few years, Dzerzhinsky will be able to create an effective structure that will work not only on the territory of the country, but also abroad. The Soviet state has learned to defend itself not only in open battles, but also in secret behind-the-scenes wars. Terror in this system was by no means the main tool.

Not everyone remembers that from 1921 to 1924 he was People's Commissar of Railways, first of the RSFSR, and then of the USSR. And it was during this period that the railways from the state of complete devastation of the Civil War were brought back to normal. And the railways for our country were the main arteries of the economy in those days.

One of the greatest merits of Felix Dzerzhinsky is the successful solution of the problem of child homelessness that arose after the Civil War. Only according to official data, about 5 million people became homeless during the war years. Dzerzhinsky, who became chairman of the commission to combat child homelessness, supported the creation of a system of children's institutions — orphanages and “communes”, in which yesterday's homeless children received medical care, education, food. Among those who were returned to normal life by Dzerzhinsky — future academicians, engineers, designers, military men who brought glory to the Soviet Union.

In February 1924, Felix Dzerzhinsky took over as chairman of the Supreme Council of the National Economy of the USSR — body responsible for developing general principles for regulating the economic life of the Soviet republic and coordinating the activities of central and local economic management bodies. In the last years of his life, he paid the greatest attention to the economic problems of the country. As a matter of fact, it was this post and worries about shortcomings in the economic system that became one of the reasons for Dzerzhinsky's departure from life at the age of 48.

The time has come?

Against the background of modern world challenges, the figure of Dzerzhinsky is presented in a completely different light, even for those who previously criticized the fiery revolutionary.

Representatives of public organizations under the auspices of the All-Russian organization “Officers of Russia” will hold a solemn laying of flowers in honor of the 145th anniversary of the birth of Felix Dzerzhinsky in the Muzeon park; and on Lubyanka Square.

The initiative to return the monument to “Iron Felix” to the Lubyanka is still alive. By the way, some of those who zealously opposed this, with the start of a special military operation, found themselves, to put it mildly, on the other side. But now we desperately need people like Felix Edmundovich, who can take responsibility in the most difficult days for the country.

In the United States, the phrase “tomorrow will be worse” threatened with sanctions for supporting Russia

The State Department said that the United States will impose new sanctions against Russians for supporting the special operation The United States will continue to work on restrictive measures, Jim O'Brien, head of the State Department's department for coordinating sanctions, said during a briefing

The United States will continue to impose sanctions against Russian citizens who support the policy of the Russian authorities. Jim O'Brien, head of the US Department of State's Office for the Coordination of Sanctions, said this during a briefing. The broadcast was conducted on YouTube.

“I want to say, as always, that those who support the policies of the Kremlin will have a worse tomorrow, as they will face the consequences of our measures or the way we apply them,” — he said.

According to him, the US authorities will continue to work on new sanctions.

Most of the briefing was devoted to the situation in the global food market. O'Brien pointed out that the US does not impose sanctions on Russian products and fertilizers, since the functioning of the grain markets— for the most vulnerable countries. He also said that the agreement on the export of grain from Ukraine, in particular the opening of the port of Odessa, reduced food prices by 5%.

Since the end of February, the US, the EU and their allies have imposed several packages of sanctions against Russia due to a special operation in Ukraine. The restrictive measures affected the Central Bank, gold and foreign exchange reserves, major banks, a wide range of imports and exports, the energy sector, Russian businessmen, politicians and public figures.

The Russian Foreign Ministry has repeatedly called the sanctions illegitimate, and also stated that they will hit everyone, and the presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov described restrictive measures against Russian businessmen as “banditry at the international level.”

Playwright Durnenkov and critic Davydova were charged with fake news about the army

Administrative cases are related to their publications in social networks. Durnenkov and Davydova are outside of Russia

Marina Davydova

The Tverskoy Court registered cases under an administrative article on discrediting the Russian army, brought against a theater critic, editor-in-chief of the magazine "Teatr." Marina Davydova and playwright Mikhail Durnenkov, the press service of the court told RBC. 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses were registered on September 8. For this part, a fine of up to 50 thousand rubles is threatened.

As specified on the website of the publication “Teatr.”, Davydova received a telegram with a request to come to the prosecutor's office to make a decision on the administrative case on August 18. Davydova noted that she was not going to “prove something in court” and also return to Russia.

In a conversation with RBC, the critic called the case against herself “administrative nonsense.” “The petition was written on February 24th. That is, until the moment the law on defamation came out, — Davydova said. According to her, “there is no discrediting the army in the petition.” “There is no word ‘army’ at all,— said the critic.

Durnenkov told RBC that he would not appeal the initiation of the case and was not in Russia. “In order to appeal the case, one must see some sense in the actions of the Russian court or have hope for justice. Since I don’t notice either one or the other, I’m not going to do anything about this, & mdash; said the playwright.

Putin’s ultimatum forced the EU to back down

Restrictions on Russian gas prices will not be introduced.

InoSMI found out about the reaction of the European Union to the warning of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The Russian President warned that he would suspend gas supplies if a decision was made to limit gas prices.

As Tom writes Rice for The Telegraph, after Putin's warning, the EU decided not to impose a ceiling on gas prices.

The expert found that at a meeting of the European Union, ministers asked the European Commission to create a plan to mitigate the crisis in the energy markets.

The observer confirmed that Europe is experiencing an acute crisis due to a sharp rise in energy prices and their shortage.

“Ministers in Brussels are urgently trying to prepare for a harsh winter,” – said in the material.

The EU Ministerial Meeting was held on Friday, September 9th. The heads of ministries discussed additional measures to reduce tensions in the world.

Including the option of the obligation of consumers to reduce electricity consumption during peak hours, to introduce limits on the income of companies that produce electricity at low costs and receive excess profits for due to high prices.

Earlier, Vladimir Putin reminded that the West is not in a position to dictate its terms to Moscow and impose price limits on Russian energy resources.

“Cold, freeze , wolf tail. The West is not in a position to dictate its terms to Russia, let them come to their senses”, – advised Vladimir Putin.

Putin also promised not to close himself off from Europe and said that Russia would not impose visa restrictions

As Topnews wrote earlier, Hungary delivered an ultimatum to the EU countries and demanded that sanctions be lifted from Russian entrepreneurs. In response, Budapest promised to stop stopping anti-Russian restrictions.

Expert: COVID-19 may find a new host among animals by the end of the year

Story Coronavirus pandemic of a new type that spread from China

The SARS-CoV-2 virus may find a new “host” by the end of the year by spreading to animals, Vladislav Zhemchugov, a specialist in especially dangerous infections, an immunologist, MD, told TASS.< /p>

According to him, large-scale and rapid “seeding” of the planet with the omicron-strain of COVID-19, with a decrease in the number of deaths, it happens precisely in the interests of the virus.

“I think we will see before the New Year who will be the new” master “, among whom the virus will settle and exist as a new natural focal infection”, — noted the doctor.

He believes that “Omicron” will be the last strain within the pandemic to circulate in humans. Then it will spread to animals, but will again be able to spread among people with a decrease in their collective immunity, suggests Zhemchugov.

Also, the expert does not exclude the occurrence of the next mutation of SARS-CoV-2, which will bypass collective immunity.

Earlier, MIPT scientist Pavel Volchkov expressed the opinion that a new strain of coronavirus could appear in China if the country eases restrictions against it.

Convicted Serbian general Mladic hospitalized

The leader of the Bosnian Serbs, General Ratko Mladic, who was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Hague Tribunal, was hospitalized in a prison hospital. This was announced by his son Darko, TASS reports.

He called his father's condition difficult. According to him, Mladic has pneumonia, and also has a heart murmur.

Darko complains that the Hague doctors hide the general's health from the family and provide the results of medical tests for a very long time. Mladic Jr. said that in August his father had been ill with the coronavirus, and during the entire period of his imprisonment he suffered three strokes and a heart attack.

In November 2017, Ratko Mladic was sentenced by the International Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia to life imprisonment for genocide, crimes against humanity and violation of the laws of war. He was a fugitive for almost 16 years until he was arrested in Serbia in May 2011 and extradited to The Hague.

“Never let the queen down.” Love story of Elizabeth II and Philip

They lived together for 73 years, 4 months and 20 days. And died with a a a a year and five months difference. They — they are Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. recalls a bright, touching, rich in events and emotions love story. The world's longest monarch.

“To be spared in war and to see victory, to be able to rest and rebuild, to fall in love unconditionally —    after that, personal and even world problems look small and unworthy of attention. I'm afraid I can not be able to express all this in the right words, and I certainly am unable to convey my thanks to you. Lilibet, you the only thing in this world that is absolutely real for me  — Prince Philip wrote to his beloved Princess Elizabeth in 1945.

The charm of a blue-eyed blond

By that time, they had known each other for 11 years. The first meeting of the prince and the princess happened at the wedding of the cousin of Prince Philip — Princess Marina of Greece and Duke of Kent, who was the uncle of Princess Elizabeth. It was in 1934 in Westminster Abbey. But to pay close attention to the 13-year-old fourth cousin of eight-year-old Lilibet was unaware. Three years later, Philip and Elizabeth saw each other at the coronation of her father —George VI. But and then nobody could have imagined that someday they would get married and will live long and happily

The spark between the young people ran later, when George VI together with wife Elizabeth Bowes-Lyonand daughters — Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret — attended the Royal Naval College, where Philip studied. With charm and jokes, an 18-year-old well-built blue-eyed blond instantly fell in love with a 13-year-old Lilibet. The girl immediately understood: here is her future husband. Philip realized that she — his fate, not immediately.

Young people began to correspond. On the nightstand by Lilibet's bed now stood a portrait of Philip. On vacation from service during World War II, he came to London. Celebrated Christmas with the Royal Family at Windsor Castle in 1943. Everything seemed to be going to the wedding. However, George VI did not approve of his daughter's choice. Philip came from a family that was deposed and fled from his native Greece, his parents divorced, his mother ended up in a psychiatric clinic. He didn't have any money. Yes                         's manners did not really correspond to the court of monarchs.

“A flash of color on the gray path”

The king and queen were horrified. They considered Philip unworthy of the hand and heart of their daughter. However, Elizabeth stood her ground. She did not see anyone else in the place of her future husband. And                 the year, during while relaxing in Balmoral Castle in Scotland, Philip, getting down on one knee, proposed to the princess. "I think" — Lilibet didn't said…

George VI had to come to terms with her choice. 10 July 1947, the engagement of Prince Philip and Princess Elizabeth took place. Four months later, on November 20, the lovers got married. He was 26 years old, she — 21.

Shortly before the wedding, the king gave the future son-in-law the title of Duke of Edinburgh, Earl of Merioneth and Baron Greenwich. Having accepted British citizenship, from the former titles of "Prince of Greece" and "Prince of Denmark" Philip refused. In addition, he took his mother's surname, rewritten in English manner — Mountbatten. Moved from Orthodoxy to Anglicanism. And a few years later, when her beloved became queen after the sudden death of her father, he was forced to leave his military career.

The celebration itself was modest by royal standards. Only 2 thousands of invitees! Elizabeth bought the fabric for the dress herself on cards (the government allocated her additional, in honor of the solemn occasion), according to which post-war Britain still lived.

However, the royal wedding ceremony was broadcast on radio and television for the first time. And more than 2 million people gathered on the streets of London. Postcards with photographs of the newlyweds were specially issued.

However, the most interesting in "wedding of the century" there were not dresses, decorations, and a four-tiered cake 3 meters high, but Elizabeth the traditional promise to obey her husband, which she insisted on herself. And surprised everyone.

Winston Churchill called the wedding of the prince and princess “a flash of color on the common gray path”.

< h2>Queen's Shadow

From their side life of course seemed a fairy tale in which every day — like a wedding. Yes and how could it be otherwise for royals?! However, in the  life of Elizabeth II and Duke Philip, as in many simple families, there were problems and grief. After all, they raised four children. Elizabeth left the two older ones in  London when she left for Malta to her husband who served there. But little kids — little troubles…

Suffice it to recall the scandals around Prince Charles related to his extramarital affairs, divorce from Princess Diana, her death, the new marriage of the Queen's eldest son… Like any mother, she was certainly worried about he. It's a gift that he has already been a father twice.

Princess Anne and Prince Andrew could not live long and happily in the same marriage. Not rumors went around the queen and husband. Especially in the first half of their life together. All sorts of intrigues, novels, relationships with actresses, journalists, ballerinas were attributed to the Duke … Not a single fact was confirmed. And Philip himself, somehow unable to stand it, answered the journalist’s tricky question: “Didn’t it occur to you that all these years I didn’t go anywhere without a police escort? Damn it, how would I have gotten away with such a trick?!»

The UN announced almost 2.5 million tons of grain exported from Ukrainian ports

As part of the “grain deal” from Ukraine, 108 ships took out almost 2.5 million tons of grain and other food, the Joint Coordination Center reported. Anadolu Agency calculated that most flights arrived in Turkey

< /p>

According to the Joint Focal Point, as part of the “grain deal” 108 ships transported 2,463,991 tons of grain and other foodstuffs from Ukrainian ports.

The Turkish Anadolu agency published statistics, according to which, as of September 8, 2.5 million tons of food were taken out by 105 ships, of which 39 have already reached their destinations, and another 66 are on their way. The agency estimated that 21 ships called at the ports of Turkey, four — in the harbors of Egypt and Italy, three ships delivered cargo to Romania. One ship arrived in the ports of England, Greece, Djibouti, Israel, Spain, Ireland and the Netherlands.

Ships with food are leaving Ukrainian ports as part of the “grain deal”, an agreement on which Russia and Ukraine signed separately with Turkey and the UN on July 22. The parties undertook to create a safe corridor for the passage of ships with grain in the Black Sea, representatives of the UN, Turkey and Ukraine agreed to control the loading in order to exclude the transport of military cargo. The agreement was concluded for three months with the possibility of extension.

The first ship left the port of Odessa on August 1, and five days later, the first foreign cargo ship moored in Chernomorsk since the outbreak of hostilities. Among the flights exporting Ukrainian grain, — two ships that went to Yemen and Djibouti as part of the UN food program.

Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that most of the supplies go to European countries, and African countries “rudely threw it.” Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan agreed with him, expressing regret about this.

Putin also indicated that by the end of the year Russia would export 30 million tons of grain, but the country was ready to increase supplies to 50 million tons.< /p> Read on RBC Pro Pro The three most bad habits of businessmen and how to overcome them Instructions Pro Be reasonably tough: how to earn authority for the new boss Instructions Pro “Eat, move, sleep”: how simple rules will help you live longer Summary Pro Export market in Russia has changed: how to sell goods abroad now Instructions Pro How a Russian citizen can open an account in a foreign bank Instructions Pro Employees are needed, work can not be found: what will happen to the labor market in the fall Articles Pro If the debtor is a pensioner. The Czech Republic declared Hungary “on the edge of the abyss” and allowed its exit from the EU

Minister for European Affairs Mikulas Beck stressed that Budapest disagrees with Brussels on many issues and, against this background, “came to the edge of the abyss.” Now he needs to decide whether to jump or not, he noted

Mikulas Beck

Hungary's position on various issues, including sanctions against Russia, often differs from the position of the EU, said in an interview with radio station Český rozhlas Plus Minister for European Affairs of the Czech Republic Mikulas Beck. He admitted that this could lead to Hungary leaving the European Union.

“In the European Union, negotiations are often difficult. <…>But Hungary, in my opinion, has come a long way to the edge of some kind of abyss, and now she has to decide whether to turn back or take a chance and jump, the consequences of which I do not want to speculate on,— concluded the minister. He added that under the “jump” the country's theoretical exit from the EU is implied.

Beck stressed that he will have a lot of work to do in the coming months to keep Budapest “on European track”; (The Czech Republic currently holds the EU Council Presidency).

The Czech minister also noted that the positive signal is that Hungary has temporarily abandoned its demand to remove three Russian businessmen from the European sanctions list— Alisher Usmanov, Petr Aven and Viktor Rashnikov. Budapest's request was reported earlier in the week by the Politico newspaper, citing sources. According to her, this infuriated the representatives of the EU. Later, the publication wrote that Budapest temporarily abandoned its demand after negotiations with the Czech Republic. The EU sanctions list should be extended until September 15.

In recent years, Hungary has repeatedly found itself in opposition to Brussels, including because of the law adopted in the country to limit LGBT propaganda and withdraw frequency from the opposition radio stations. The latest reason for disagreement was the EU sanctions policy towards Russia. Hungary did not support the restrictions, and also warned that they would primarily turn against the countries — members of the European Union.

“In the end, Europe will be on the side of the losers in this war due to economic problems. We recommended to stop the sanctions process,— Balazs Orbán, a senior adviser to the Hungarian Prime Minister, said in June.

In August, including because of Hungary, EU foreign ministers failed to reach a consensus on a visa ban for Russians. Instead, it was decided to turn to a softer measure— suspension of the simplified visa regime. Budapest also opposes sanctions against oil and gas supplies from Russia. “There is no European security of supply without Russian sources of energy”, — Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto stated.
