Vucic explained the refusal of sanctions against Russia at the request of Scholz

Despite Scholz's “strong” request to join sanctions against Russia, Serbia will not do so, Vučić said. Belgrade is sure that such actions are ineffective and will resist the pressure “while they can” .jpg” alt=”Vucic explained the lifting of sanctions against Russia at the request of Scholz” />

Alexander Vucic

Despite the position of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and the European Union as a whole, Serbia does not intend to impose restrictive measures against Russia, because he does not consider such a policy to be effective, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said at a press conference, Reuters reports.

“As for sanctions, we have a different position. <…> We are mindful of the sanctions [against Serbia] and do not consider the sanctions to be effective,— said the President of Serbia.

Vucic also said that Scholz “clearly and sharply” asked him to impose sanctions against Russia, joining the measures of the European Union. According to the Kurir portal, he added that he clarified to Scholz the economic situation of Serbia: that is, energy ties with Russia, as well as traditional and historical relations with this country.

At the same time, the Serbian President noted the importance of Germany for the country, calling it the most important economic partner of Belgrade, the volume of trade with the German side in the first four months of this year was 25.7% higher than the same period last year. Exports from Germany have reached €7.5 billion this year.

“The importance of Germany in the economic sense is enormous. She is the first in support, the first in the exchange of services, in import and export, & mdash; he concluded.

Russia — Serbia's third largest trading partner, its share in the country's trade turnover is 7%. In 2016, the trade turnover between Moscow and Belgrade was equal to €2.3 billion, with the EU in 2016 the trade turnover amounted to €20 billion.

Belgrade will resist sanctions against Moscow “for as long as it can,” Vučić warned in mid-May. According to him, Serbia is facing the consequences of its stance on sanctions, in particular the lack of access to the capital market and difficulties in servicing loans. “Everyone will say: Vucic announces the imposition of sanctions. No. We will resist,— emphasized the President of Serbia.

Vučić emphasized that Serbia's position is not anti-Western or Russophobic, despite being surrounded by NATO countries. He compared the state to a “small island”. “Some people call it a problem. What is the problem in trusting our people, the heroic genes of our citizens, and that we are able to defend our land and want to have the right to defend our borders, our country, have our own military and protect our sky, — he explained.

Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic had earlier urged Serbia to stop “sitting on two chairs.” and take a position. “Serbia has to be very careful [and decide] which side it chooses and supports if it has ambitions to join the EU”, — he declared. Vučić, in response, drew attention to the fact that this statement was made in a mentoring tone, and not a good neighborly one. He added: “They don't say I wish our Serbian friends were with us in something. It would be different words».

The probable deadlines for the end of the special operation have been named: it will take a long time to wait

The time for quick fixes is over

“President Putin outlined the tasks facing the special military operation. Completion of these tasks will mean the end of a special military operation, ”the Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov answered a question about the likely timing of the completion of what began on February 24 at the end of this week. Clear, specific, understandable – but not very informative. Against the background of such a lack of information content, the statements of high-ranking people who are in the subject, who nevertheless decide to make more definite time forecasts, are all the more valuable. Interview of a deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, one of the closest associates of Ramzan Kadyrov, Adam Delimkhanov, to the RIA Novosti agency. Question: “In your opinion, given your combat experience, is it possible to expect that the special operation in Ukraine will end before the end of the year. It is clear that this can only be said approximately. Answer: We hope. I think it won't go on anymore.”

Adam Delimkhanov

Can this statement be considered an important political signal? Let's figure it out. “We can only talk about this approximately”, “I think”, “we hope” – both from the very wording of the question and from the very wording of the answer it clearly follows that we are by no means talking about something firmly guaranteed. But is it possible, in principle, in this context, to consider something guaranteed? Another important point. Delimkhanov's words are a remark not taken out of context, thrown by him in response to a question during a fleeting meeting with a journalist. These words are part of a fairly extensive interview with the main state news agency. As the author of a fairly large number of interviews with prominent Russian political figures, I can “open a crack in the journalistic kitchen”: in our country, such texts are usually carefully edited, verified and necessarily endorsed. There is nothing “random” about them.

It is probably not accidental that the end of this year is increasingly slipping in expert assessments as some very important reference point. Here, for example, is a key fragment of a very high-quality, well-thought-out and convincing article by the famous political scientist Vasily Kashin in the Profile magazine: autumn-winter 2022, when the collapse of the Ukrainian infrastructure, the energy crisis with the disruption of the heating season, the lack of fuel, food and further deterioration of the living conditions of the Ukrainian population will begin to affect.

“It may become a breaking point” – or it may not. Vasily Kashin's forecast also does not contain any “firm guarantees”. But this, in my opinion, only gives his words more weight. Weighted expert assessments are generally better understood not as indications of certain specific dates, but as indications of trends: in which direction is the “political wind blowing”? In the direction of what probable outcome is everything developing? Do not consider that I contradict myself, but I am still ready to name one specific date – the start date of one extremely important political trend. Optimistic statements by Moscow officials following their last face-to-face meeting with the Ukrainian delegation in Istanbul on March 29 were greeted with deep skepticism in Russian society. And this skepticism was fully justified. Official Kyiv very quickly disavowed the agreements reached (or still not fully reached?).

But here's what a surprising (first of all, for myself) conclusion I came to, having collected scraps of information into a big picture: on March 29, there was no game or show from the Kremlin. Moscow was indeed ready to negotiate with Kyiv on the agreed terms. But since such readiness was not “mirrored” by the counter readiness of the Zelensky regime, “the concept has changed.” Now, on the part of Moscow, this “concept”, in my opinion, looks like this: the more they drag and persist, the more they will eventually lose. Will this “end result” coincide with the end of 2022? Time will tell. This is the only “conclusion” that can now be considered 100% correct.

The political scientist explained the strange behavior of Dmitry Medvedev: “I burned all the bridges”

According to Alexei Makarkin, the task that the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia solves is “to stay in the elite”

“I hate them. They are bastards and degenerates…” Dmitry's speeches Medvedev in social networks are becoming more and more irreconcilable towards the West and the “fifth column” within the country. And more and more, shall we say, emotionally colored. The note liberal and “dove” before our eyes turned into a terry “hawk”. And the last, quoted post amazed, perhaps, even the “hawkish” camp. Aleksey Makarkin, First Vice President of the Center for Political Technologies, reflects on the reasons for the metamorphosis in an interview with MK.

– I'm not sure that now it is worth focusing on the issue of succession. Now more immediate problems are being solved. Including – if we talk about Medvedev's tasks. Moreover, as far as succession is concerned, his latest publication is counterproductive from this point of view. The duties of the president are connected, among other things, with the fact that he has to communicate with Western leaders.

How long has the current Russian president spoken to Macron? According to Macron, about 100 hours. And this communication will continue. Imagine: Medvedev becomes president, and he will have to communicate with those whom he called so. But how do you communicate after that? How to build relationships? No, I don't think it's a matter of succession.

– I think that everything is easier. It is about the role and place in the team. And in general about belonging to the team. Medvedev has a reputation as a Westerner, which has developed during his presidency. And he actually did quite a lot for this. One can recall his personal relationship with Obama, and the reset, and statements about freedom… And when he left the presidency, he also did not immediately turn into a conservative. There was, for example, if you remember, such a project as “Open Government”.

But what was once a competitive advantage looks completely different now. In the conditions of a special military operation, in the conditions of a break with the West, such a past, such a background, is a rather serious problem. Medvedev invested too much in his time in modernization, in Westernization. And now his task is not succession. The task is to stay in the elite. I would even say – in the superelite: he is still the deputy chairman of the Security Council.

The rest of the presidential team doesn't have to prove anything, they don't have to renounce anything. They have been criticizing the West for a long time, they have long spoken out for their own way of development. Medvedev, in order to be a natural part of the team, must in some sense make up for lost time. Which is what he is doing now. Shows that he is the same as everything, that what was connected with Obama, with the reset, is a distant past. That he burned all the bridges.

– Just in case, I think. But if Medvedev had behaved the way he used to, as it corresponded to his image, the danger would probably really exist. We often have a frivolous attitude towards Medvedev. Which is even more intensified after his last statement. But he was still president for four years and prime minister for almost eight. This person, no matter how you treat him, has a huge hardware experience. He understands the rules of the game. And he understands that now everyone needs to be consolidated, everyone should be one team, everyone should be critics of the West.

– I would say this: the vector that he has now defined is a vector for emphasized patriotism, from the point of view of command logic is quite correct. But there is a vector, and there are methods. Medvedev is clearly overdoing it. When the image changes so abruptly, it always causes dissonance.

Those people who once sympathized with him, he finally pushed away. As for the representatives of the other camp, those who were suspicious of him, they, of course, do not take all this seriously. The image changes too abruptly, too defiantly.

But on the other hand, this is a demonstration of fidelity, a demonstration of loyalty. If the task is to remain in the super-elite, to remain a member of the team, then I think it has been solved. He will remain with them.

– Well, we still do not have a monarchy. A president cannot simply point a finger at a person and say: tomorrow he will be president. According to all polls, people want the head of state, as before, to be elected by the people. It has taken root over 30 years. That is, the issue is not only of a hardware nature, but also of a public-political nature. Any successor must go to the polls.

It is clear that if the elections were held today, then people would vote for the government – no matter who represents it. Now, as always happens in Russia in emergency situations, there is a consolidation around the flag, pro-government mobilization. But the emergency cannot last forever. In time, she will leave. Speaking of the future, I can hardly imagine Medvedev as a presidential candidate.

Everyone will start remembering. For some, he is the prime minister, who is associated with raising the retirement age. For others, he will forever be the president who met with Obama and announced the reset. The Russian anti-Western does not forget anything. For those people who treat the West the way Medvedev does now, he will always be a suspicious figure. Still others will remember these, his last statements: how will he represent Russia in relations with the West after them? surnames, in my opinion, this is the most impassable option. There will be a variety of claims from a variety of sides. Everyone will present something different to Medvedev.

– People were unhappy with Khrushchev for many reasons. First of all, of course, on social and economic. But his rhetoric did not really add to his popularity. There is a widespread point of view that a politician should be close to the masses, speak their language. The same Khrushchev emphasized in every possible way that he worked as a mechanic. But this caused an ambivalent reaction in people. And then, over time, rather negative. Like, since you are a locksmith, why did you get into the bosses? Go work as a locksmith!

– Yes, Khrushchev's emphasized demonstration of his lack of education, of the common people was immeasurably more in line with Khrushchev's image than the way Medvedev is behaving now, Medvedev's image. Medvedev is a man from an educated, intellectual milieu. And when he tries to appeal to other audiences, it looks, shall we say, not quite natural.

But I repeat: even Khrushchev's image was imperfect. People did not want to see the leader of the person who behaved with them in a familiar way. Not only some cultural figures, artists from the Manezh, offended by his statements, but also the same locksmiths. Therefore, when Brezhnev came, more solid, respectable, balanced, he was received very well in this contrast. For quite a long time, until the mid-1970s, Brezhnev was very popular.

Communication style is a very important thing for a politician. Let me give you a historical example from more than a century ago. Sergei Yulievich Witte was one of the smartest officials in the Russian Empire. He was, perhaps, the first official who tried to introduce elements of public policy into the Russian monarchy.

In 1905, as chairman of the Council of Ministers, Witte wrote an appeal to the workers – so that they would not rebel, but constructively cooperate with the authorities. Prior to that, he visited America, where he negotiated peace with Japan. There he shook hands with the driver, gave interviews… In general, he charmed the Americans.

After that, Witte decided to charm the Russian workers. But “cut off” on the first phrase. He began: “Brothers workers…” The St. Petersburg Soviet of Workers' Deputies, in which the young Leon Trotsky played a key role, declared in its official reply: “The proletarians are in no way related to Count Witte.” Regardless of how you feel about Trotsky, the answer, admittedly, was brilliant.

That is, intonation is very important in politics. No need to flirt with the electorate or the target audience. You need to have your own style and know the measure. And look like a solid person who can solve really serious problems.

Became known the details of the participation of PMC “Wagner” in the battles for Severodonetsk

“The Armed Forces of Ukraine had a nightmare with harassing raids”

During the special operation, a significant part of Severodonetsk was taken under control. The remnants of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are still holding the industrial zone of the Azot plant. Military expert Mikhail Khodarenok spoke about the participation of fighters of the private military company Wagner in this area.

Photo: Donetsk News Agency

As he wrote in his tg-channel, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have many reasons to be afraid of the “musicians” after Severodonetsk. According to him, PMC fighters “proved their professional suitability back in Syria”, where they were “the tip of the spear, helped the Syrian army where the Syrians could not cope.”

The difference between the “Wagnerites” is high professionalism, among them there are completely experienced military men. “There are almost no young animals, all have officer ranks, experience, recommendations and have passed dozens of checks from different sources, so there is no doubt about their competence,” the expert noted.

In Severodonetsk, according to him, in Thanks in large part to the PMCs, “the most effective and quickly conducted operation” was carried out.

“According to some information, they entered the city long before the arrival of the main forces and nightmared the Armed Forces of Ukraine with harassing raids, during one of which the defense headquarters was destroyed a city built according to all the canons of the J-structure of NATO forces,” Khodarenok noted.

In turn, the Washington Post wrote about the new tactics of the Russian troops. The publication was quoted by politician and writer Zakhar Prilepin in his tg channel. “The Russians have adapted their tactics in a way that allows them to make full use of their firepower,” he writes. – Staying at a distance from the Ukrainian positions, they relentlessly strike them, and then seize territory when the Ukrainians are forced to retreat. In short, and translated into Russian: Ukraine, give up before it's too late. It will get worse.”

The head of the LPR told foreign journalists about the turning point in the special operation

“The Armed Forces of Ukraine must understand that we will achieve our goal”

A group of foreign journalists – 42 people – visited the Luhansk People's Republic. Among them are representatives of Germany, the Netherlands, the USA, India. Foreign guests visited the construction site of a multifunctional medical center in Luhansk, and also talked with the head of the republic, Leonid Pasechnik. The MK correspondent was a participant in this meeting.

Photo: Global Look Press

“This is a very important healthcare facility,” Pasechnik explained the significance of the medical center. – Since the beginning of the 90s of the last century, the Ukrainian authorities have paid very little attention to healthcare issues on the territory of the republic. Basically on a residual basis. Nobody built any new facilities.

According to the head of the LPR, this did not affect the quality of services in the best way. The multifunctional hospital will be a great help for Lugansk doctors.

– We are very grateful to the Russian Federation for such help, – Pasechnik voiced.

He also added that as part of the restoration of the republic, work is already underway to restore bridges and roads. Asphalt-concrete plants have been commissioned on a turnkey basis.

– Are there negotiations with other countries on the recognition of the republic?

– Of course, such negotiations are underway, but let it remain a secret for now. You will learn about everything later.

– What can you say about military operations, in particular about Severodonetsk? – the representative of the French television is interested. – Has he been released or are there still Ukrainian soldiers there?

– To date, Severodonetsk has been completely liberated. Representatives of the armed forces of Ukraine remain only on the territory of the industrial zone of the Azot plant, from where they are shelling the city.

According to Pasechnik, the situation in Severodonetsk cannot be called calm, of course. And therefore, it is too early to talk about restoration work. But the delivery of humanitarian aid in the form of food, water and basic necessities has already been established in the city. Also, if desired, the evacuation of the civilian population is carried out

– Do you know the exact number of Ukrainian military personnel located on the territory of the plant?

– I did not receive exact data, so I do not undertake to voice any numbers. But the fact that there is a civilian population, we know for sure, and there are quite a lot of them. In any case, we will go into the city and completely clear it of Ukrainian militants.

Pasechnik explained that it was not possible to resort to decisive actions to storm the plant due to the fact that Azot is an object of the chemical industry. The main task facing the servicemen is to clean up the industrial area in such a way as to prevent the occurrence of an ecological catastrophe.

To the question of interest to everyone – are the Ukrainian servicemen ready for negotiations on surrender or for the organization of humanitarian corridors – Leonid Ivanovich answered that I have not yet heard that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have expressed any desire.

– I thought a lot about what the Americans and the British had done on our territory. On the other side, many Ukrainian servicemen are dying, and they should already understand that in any case we will achieve our goal and liberate our land. If they had made the right decision, “thrown away” the white flag and allowed the denazification and demilitarization of Ukraine to be carried out in a more peaceful way, this would have saved the lives of our guys, Russian military personnel and their own. These are senseless sacrifices.

Also, attention was paid to the topic of the exchange of prisoners and the wounded. When asked if there had already been an exchange of prisoners of war of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for defenders of the republic held captive by the Ukrainian side, the head said that so far there were no such facts.

– How many Ukrainian soldiers are now held captive in the LPR?

p>

– I am not ready to answer the exact figure, but it is about three hundred people.

Returning to the issue of restoring the liberated territories, Pasechnik explained that this process is taking place on the territories of those settlements that were liberated in the first two or three weeks of the military special operation. Payments of pensions and wages, as well as the work of all enterprises, have been fully established in these territories. Kremennaya, Rubizhnoye, Lisichansk, Severodonetsk and Popasnaya remain rather difficult areas. In the case of the last settlement, despite the fact that the city was liberated, active shelling continues from the other side, which does not allow the restoration of Popasna to begin. According to experts, today the city is damaged by 96 percent.

– Now we often hear that in the near future it is possible to expect an outcome of the conflict. What could be a turning point?

– I think it's a conflict of ideologies. On the territory of Ukraine, I would say so, there is a war of good and evil. Pro-Western countries such as the US and UK have organized a war of madness. Without any rules. But Russia just stands on the side of goodness, creation and truth. And he does everything to ensure that peace is preserved throughout the world in the future.

Why are they still giving milk for harm?

“Argumenty i Fakty” weekly No. 23. What else will the West freeze itself to spite Russia 08/06/2022

I am reading the news: a list of harmful production factors approved for & nbsp; which workers are entitled to 0.5 & nbsp; l of milk. And so do do milk compensate for the harmfulness? Maybe the norm is obsolete?

A. Malinin, Cherepovets

Expert's answer 0 + –

Milk production began in 1918 by decree approved by Lenin. The first recipients were the starving workers of the Putilov factory. However, scientists doubt the effectiveness of this measure. “Milk does not neutralize toxins and does not have the properties of a universal sorbent. Moreover, with age, many people develop intolerance to it due to a decrease in the activity of the lactase enzyme, — speaks D. M. Sc., Professor of the First Moscow State Medical University. Sechenov Alexey Bueverov. — I advise you to write an application for getting instead of milk 0.5 l of more healthy sour-milk liquid products (kefir, curdled milk, fermented baked milk, yoghurts). It's allowed.”

Military commissar Dmitry Steshin: if they want to kill you, it’s indecent to walk without a weapon

Plot RF special operation in Donbass and Ukraine

When my colleague and friend, the Komsomolka military commissar Dmitry Steshinreturned from Mariupol — I almost immediately took my children to him: so that they could talk live with a witness to historical events. Dmitry patiently answered the questions of teenagers, showed his findings at Azovstal. For example, comics about the 1917 revolution in Ukrainian, where Russians are assigned the role of villains. Or the textbook of the Nazi scholarHans Günther“Raciology of the Jewish People”. The children saw the tank battle on the video from the reconnaissance copter, and not in the computer game “Tanks”. And then the meeting turned into a big conversation about the modern role of a journalist in the war.

“Protected my child”

Valery Rukobratsky, aif.ru: Dima, when you returned, were you not struck by a certain dissonance between what is happening here and there? Here — well-fed glamorous Moscow. It's as if the new reality we found ourselves in after the start of the special operation in Ukraine doesn't exist.

Dmitry Steshin: I can't wish what I saw to anyone so many years in the Donbass, and especially in these last months. This would be wrong. And when returned — experienced what he described in his novels Remarque. The guys from the First World War, our future enemies, are returning, and how is everything wrong with them, and why are we back? Should have stayed. How are the comrades? In general, I went through all this, it was very unpleasant. It turned out that I accumulated considerable anger in myself, which I even fell asleep with difficulty. And for four months in the war, I tried not to think about the house, because I only poisoned my soul. jpg” height=”600″ width=”450″ style=”display: block;” />

— You also had a baby, three days before the start?

— Three days was my daughter, as I left. But nothing, he returned and already taught her to crawl.

— How did you correlate all this in yourself: there is a child whom you have not seen, and it is not clear whether you will see it at all?

— I felt like I was doing my best to protect my child. Because everything with these scum was clear what they were preparing for, why their anti-Russia project appeared at all and for what. So, with goal-setting, everything was fine with me.

Journalist and machine gun

— In Donetsk, you joined the Vostok unit and they gave you a machine gun. Does that mean you've become a combatant? Although it is generally accepted that a journalist is, as it were, over the fight …

— This schizophrenic mindset was instilled in us in the early 1990s by people who, after the collapse of the USSR, were creating journalism in our country in a new way. These were Western consultants, funds. And they organized journalism for us in their own interests. Therefore, during the first Chechen war, 80% of the interviews with our Russian journalists were done from the enemy side. And this, in fact, is a betrayal of both the army and its people. Those consultants told us that the journalist — over the fight. Although they themselves normally choose a side for themselves, they have no doubts. And it's good that such idiotic myths collapsed. You have to be a schizophrenic to cover the same conflict from two sides.

And as for this 1980 machine gun, from which I never fired, of course, never… As my fellow militiaman said if they shoot at you and want to kill you, being unarmed is simply indecent. Well, all our military correspondents during the Great Patriotic War were with weapons. And nothing, they didn’t complex about this.

And besides, I have driven thousands of kilometers through the war zones, through the territories that have not been cleared, and I am wanted in Ukraine. If they would have caught me alive and healthy, taken me to Kyiv, they would have mocked me for a long time. I don't agree with all of this. I will resist.

“Whole houses are not interesting to shoot”

— Regarding Mariupol — was it possible for us to take the city without all this destruction?

— The fact that the city is destroyed — it is a myth. This is the picture given by the journalists. Shouldn't they rent entire houses? It is not interesting. Only the outer houses of the city blocks were damaged. You go inside, go around the smoky house — and there are houses with glass. There are also a lot of houses where getting only into the last floors — it's all being renovated. This is not my empirical reasoning, I spoke with the commander of the detachment of the Tula Ministry of Emergency Situations. He shows me the house, says — this entrance will have to be dismantled, and we can save the other three. In the city, 20 percent of houses were damaged, everything else is being restored. And according to the experience of Grozny — done quickly enough.

And as for the assault — there were no other options. The enemy quite consciously prepared residential buildings for a long-term defense. I know the technology very well, how it's done. Let's say a nine-story building, three entrances. All local residents are driven into basements. On the first floor, entrance doors, usually made of iron, are flattened with a sledgehammer so that they cannot be opened. After that, the house can only be accessed by a ladder, which retracts behind it to the second floor. That's all, the defense of the house began. Places for shelter are chosen, these are, as a rule, inter-apartment corridors on landings — there you immediately 3-4 walls close. Can't get a tank. And in such a house you can sit for a long time. What the people of Azov* demonstrated to us — they stayed in the city for about two months.

— Can we assume that they will use similar tactics in other cities?

— No, you know, the example of Mariupol was very revealing. There is no point in defending in the cities, ours will still crush them, drive them into the dungeon, and they will come out of there with their hands up. I think that's why it was so important for us not to kill them all there. It is important that they admitted that they were defeated, broken, that they went out and surrendered. It was after the victory at Azovstal that there were a lot of videos from Ukrainian soldiers, where they cry that they are not provided, that all commanders — zradniki (Ukrainian — traitors. — Approx. «AiF».). There was a psychological breakdown, everyone was waiting for it for a very long time.

Photo: from the archive of Dmitry Steshin

— I monitor Ukrainian publications, and this defeat at Azovstal as if pulled out of the information field…

— Yes, an uncomfortable story, ugly. Imagine, the elite, “Azov” *, an analogue of the highest political school NAPOLA from the Third Reich, where political workers were trained for the Wehrmacht. People from “Azov” they were evenly distributed in the APU and metastasized there. Therefore, we are surprised to see so many Vushniks in swastons, in Wehrmacht eagles, runes. How is this even possible? And so, they trained the entire army according to the ideological patterns of “Azov”. And in Mariupol, this happened to them — they didn't want to become dead heroes. At first they tried to crow something about the evacuation, but the public space, which is accessible to everyone, immediately reported that these scum had been taken to Yelenovka, to the pre-trial detention center. Elenovka — this is an unfortunate village that has been shelled for 8 years. And then the guys told me that the Ukrainian gunners immediately reduced their ardor in relation to Yelenovka. I would also seat them on chairs somewhere in the center of Donetsk. To stop covering the city with heavy artillery.

“They are to blame”

— When you are inside the event, the units went out on combat missions, do you see only your piece of responsibility, or do you understand the whole plan of what is happening in the theater of operations?

— It is tunnel vision, I have said many times that I see only a fragment where my battalion is fighting. Objectively. Then, already in the smoking rooms, after talking with commanders, with comrades, you begin to more or less imagine what is happening around. In fact, nothing so ingenious, Jesuitical is happening: well, yes, we are storming Mariupol, taking it from all sides. Well, yes, ours cut off the Ilyich plant from Azovstal and cleaned it up. It's really just down to earth.

— I saw about 200 captured Ukrainians, all of them were Westerners. Everyone has the same story: they mobilized when I went for bread, they gave me a machine gun, the first battle began, I immediately went to surrender. But the backbone of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as our military say, — guys from Odessa, Nikolaev, Kharkov. And these are the most stubborn fighters. What to do with this backbone of the army? Can these Russians who have become Ukrainian nationalists be reprogrammed?

— I will say a cruel thing that was discussed with the fighters there. If all the defenses of the Ukrainians fell down in the first days of the special operation, Zelenskywould have fled, and we would have safely occupied Ukraine — then they would have received in the liberated territories such a quantity of Bandera scum, Nazi, Svidomo, forelock, that no FSB could have coped with. This is not a bandit underground in the North Caucasus, a country of 30-40 million people. Now all this scum is simply being ground — and thank God. Their losses are huge, and ours are minimal. And everyone who was ready to shed blood for Ukraine as an anti-Russia project — must be destroyed. And then we will have another country, and Ukraine will be without them. They themselves are to blame. I have no pity for them, they deserve it.

Putin allowed the Ministry of Defense to determine when to provide first aid in battle

Now the Ministry of Defense will determine the cases when servicemen of the Armed Forces need to provide first aid, and the procedure for its provision in combat conditions. The Ministry of Health used to do this

President Vladimir Putin signed a law giving the Ministry of Defense the authority to establish a list of conditions under which first aid is provided to servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces in wartime, military operations and combat missions.

The military department will also be able to determine the rules assistance in such cases, the standards for equipping first aid kits and the procedure for organizing the training of the military and specialists in this field. The rules for servicemen of troops who are not part of the Armed Forces will be determined by authorized federal executive bodies.

Amendments were made to the laws “On Defense” and “On the Fundamentals of Protecting the Health of Citizens in the Russian Federation”.

The bill was submitted to the State Duma by a group of deputies from United Russia. The explanatory note states that Russian legislation “regarding the provision of first aid does not take into account the peculiarities of the medical support of the Armed Forces”; and other troops. Now the list of conditions under which first aid is provided and first aid measures is established by the Ministry of Health, but the corresponding order of this department does not reflect the issues of providing first aid to military personnel in combat conditions, the authors of the document noted.

Cavusoglu announced that Turkey is waiting for Russia’s response on Ukrainian grain

Turkey has offered to hold a meeting with the participation of representatives of Ukraine, Russia and the UN to discuss a plan for transporting grain, it must be approved by Moscow and Kyiv. Cavusoglu himself considers the mechanism correct

UN Plan for the export of grain from Ukraine— correct, said Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu at a press conference after a meeting with his Czech counterpart Jan Lipavsky, Anadolu reports.

“Now the parties should discuss its details. We said that we are ready to hold a quadripartite meeting with the participation of the UN, Turkey, Ukraine and Russia in the near future. The proposal from the UN has already been received, — the minister continued. According to him, Ankara is waiting for a response from the Russian side.

After the start of the Russian military operation in Ukraine, more than 20 million tons of grain got stuck: before it was transported to destination countries through the Black Sea, but the ports in the Odessa region were mined due to hostilities.

On June 3, Turkish Anadolu agency reported that Ankara, Kyiv and Moscow, with the support of the UN, prepared a plan for a “grain corridor” from Ukraine. After meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on June 8, Cavusoglu called the UN plan reasonable. Then he proposed to hold a meeting in Istanbul to discuss the details, if the Ukrainian and Russian authorities approve the grain export mechanism.

Lavrov, at a joint press conference with Cavusoglu, in turn, stressed that there are no obstacles from Russia to the transportation of grain, and in order for it to take place, Ukraine must clear the ports and allow foreign ships to enter the Black Sea. The minister promised that Russia would not use demining to fulfill the goals of a military special operation and was ready “one way or another” issue these guarantees.

Kyiv, in turn, accuses Russian ships of blocking ports and demands international security guarantees for ships with food.

On the night of March 15, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Committee on Political Affairs and Democracy prepared a “draft opinion” on with a call to exclude Russia, and in the afternoon, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov handed over to the Secretary General of the Council of Europe the decision to withdraw the country. The head of the Russian delegation to PACE, Petr Tolstoy, said that the organization exerted “unprecedented political and sanctions pressure” on Russia. and “in the midst of another anti-Russian discussion” in the assembly, Moscow decided to leave the Council of Europe.

The Foreign Ministry stressed that this decision “will not affect the rights and freedoms”; Russians, since the Constitution “establishes no less guarantees for them than the European Convention on Human Rights.”

Bout’s lawyer offered the “most honest” option for his exchange

Zissou said that it is unprofitable for the US to keep Bout because it would reduce the chances of him being exchanged for one of the Americans in Russian prisons. He called the most fair exchange of a Russian for a basketball player Greiner Buta offered “the most honest” option for his exchange” />

Viktor Bout

The most honest thing would be to exchange businessman Viktor Bout convicted in the United States for basketball player Brittney Griner, says Russian lawyer Steve Zissu.

“Her crime is less serious than [the case of Paul] Whelan, who is accused of espionage, — the lawyer explained.— But in reality, the false narrative that Bout— “merchant of death”, and only recently some American journalists began to write the truth about Victor. So it's possible that Whelan will be included [in the exchange] even though he served a very small fraction of his sentence compared to Victor.

Zissou noted that Bout is serving a sentence in an American prison longer than Griner, Whelan and Trevor Reed (convicted in Russia for violence against a police officer) were all imprisoned in Russia combined. “Victor's term will come to an end in five or six years. What's the point of keeping it any longer if [the US] runs the risk of getting nothing in return? This logic is not alien to the US government, — said the lawyer.

He added that Bout's health had deteriorated and “there's no excuse” that he is not receiving the necessary medical care. “It can be assumed that this is an attempt to put pressure on the Russian government, but I have no evidence,” — Zissa added. He promised to seek observance of the rights of the Russian and go to court if he is not provided with assistance in the near future.

Bout's wife Alla told RBC that after he contracted a bacterial infection, they contacted the prison administration and the staff of the Russian embassy in Washington, but there was no response from the American side. “The infection began to spread so much that a person is constantly tormented by pain, that is, it already looks like just torture with pain when he cannot sleep, does not find a place for himself,” — Bout's wife says. According to her, her husband has not yet been diagnosed, his condition has deteriorated greatly, a significant part of the skin is affected.

Alla But is not aware of a possible exchange. “I hope that this will happen, because there is every reason to hope for it and think that it is possible. Because we recently saw that Konstantin Yaroshenko (a Russian pilot convicted in the United States for smuggling cocaine, in the spring of 2022 he was exchanged for an American Trevor Reed. — RBC) returned home. Still, apparently, work is underway in this direction, & mdash; she noted.

Washington began investigating Bout back in the 1990s. In 2008, he was arrested in Thailand: Bout was accused of trying to sell weapons to Colombian terrorists posed as American agents. In 2010, the Thai authorities approved the extradition of the Russian to the United States, where in 2012 Bout was sentenced to 25 years in prison. The businessman pleaded not guilty. Washington refused Moscow several times in response to requests to deport Bout.

Zissou said in February this year that Bout could be released in six years for good behavior and after his release he should be deported to Russia.< /p>

In May, it became known about the health problems of the Russian. The embassy in Washington accused the American authorities of deliberately not helping Bout.

Brittney Greiner, whom Zissou offered to exchange for Bout,— American basketball player As part of the US team, she twice became the Olympic champion and won two world championships. Since 2015, Greiner has played for the Yekaterinburg club UMMC. In February 2022, the athlete was arrested after e-cigarette cartridges filled with hash oil were found in her bag at Sheremetyevo Airport. A criminal case was opened against her under clause «c» Part 2 Art. 229.1 of the Criminal Code (smuggling of narcotic drugs in a significant amount), she faces up to ten years in prison. Griner did not challenge the charge in court.

The US State Department said that it considers the basketball player illegally detained and the office of the US President's Special Representative for Hostage Affairs will deal with her case.

Zelensky signed a law on sending territorial defense to the places of hostilities

Now the territorial defense forces will be able to operate throughout the territory of Ukraine, including the combat zone and the “occupied” areas. Zelensky signed this law in violation of the Constitution of the country

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law that provides territorial defense with the ability to perform tasks in areas of hostilities, follows from the card index of the Verkhovna Rada of the country.

Previously, the defense could perform tasks within the territory of the corresponding territorial community. Now it can operate on the entire territory of Ukraine, including areas of military operations and those under the control of Russia, the agency “Ukrainian News” notes.

This law was signed by Rada Chairman Ruslan Stefanchuk on May 6 and sent to Zelensky for signature the same day. According to the Constitution of Ukraine, the head of state had to either sign the law within 15 days or return it to the Rada with his proposals for reconsideration. However, Zelensky signed the law more than a month later, although according to the Constitution, the document entered into force after the 15 days when the president had to either sign the law or send it back to the Rada.

The new act amends the law “On the Fundamentals of National Resistance”, which Zelensky signed in July last year. The document was submitted to the Rada at the initiative of the president and implied the creation of a territorial defense in the country, which, according to the law, organizes, prepares and performs tasks to counter military threats and assist in protecting the population, territories, the environment and property from emergencies.< /p>

The territorial defense forces appeared in the country on January 1 this year, they are commanded by Igor Tantsyura, former deputy commander of the ground forces of the armed forces of Ukraine. The composition of the defense can include both professional military and volunteers.

In April, the government of Ukraine allowed the defense to use artillery and rockets, and also formalized the authority to use any small arms and ammunition— in fact, this has been allowed since February 24.

Bild learned about the plans of Scholz, Macron and Draghi to visit Kyiv

According to the newspaper, three politicians are going to meet in the Ukrainian capital with Vladimir Zelensky before the G7 summit, which will be held at the end of June

Kyiv, Ukraine

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz plans to visit Kyiv in June together with the President of France Emmanuel Macron and Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi, Bild journalist Paul Ronzheimer said on Twitter.

According to him, politicians are going to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky before the G7 summit, which will be held from June 26 to 28.

T-online, citing Bild, writes that government sources in France and Ukraine reported publication about the negotiations on this subject, which were conducted for a long time. According to the publication, Macron insisted on a visit after the parliamentary elections in France— they will be held from 12 to 19 June.

Earlier, Europe 1 sources reported on Macron's trip to Kyiv, which could take place in the coming weeks. According to the radio station, during this visit, the French leader may announce the transfer of six more 155-mm Caesar self-propelled artillery pieces to Ukraine. The first six such guns were handed over to Kyiv at the end of April.

La Repubblica wrote about Draghi's possible visit to Ukraine back in April.

Scholz said in May that he could not come to Kyiv until German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier was there. He wanted to come to the Ukrainian capital along with the presidents of Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia in April, but later said that he was denied a visit in Ukraine. According to Bild sources, the reason was “close ties”; the President of Germany with Russia and support for Nord Stream 2. According to the chancellor, such a decision only causes irritation and it would be better to accept Steinmeier.

The Ministry of Defense announced the deployment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine firing points in schools in the Donbass

The Armed Forces of Ukraine converted eight schools in the DPR and four in other regions of Ukraine for military purposes. Earlier, the Ministry of Defense indicated that the Ukrainian military was firing from civilian targets, provoking the Russian army to retaliate.

According to the agency, boarding school No. 1, schools No. 17 and 9, the High Voltage Research Institute in Slavyansk, school No. 9 of Pokrovsk, lyceum No. 7 and school No. 29 of Privolye, schools No. 11 and 17 of Konstantinovka are used for military purposes in the DPR. In other cities of Ukraine, the military also occupy civilian facilities: in Nikolaev— schools No. 40 and 43, lyceum No. 25, in the Dnieper— school number 35.

As indicated by the Ministry of Defense, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are deployed inside the buildings of these institutions or near them, they set up roadblocks, equip firing points and strong points, place weapons and ammunition depots. In some buildings, civilians are being held “under the pretext of ensuring security,” according to the Russian military department.

On June 3, the Ministry of Defense already reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are using schools and other civilian facilities for military purposes. The ministry indicated that the Ukrainian military was firing from converted buildings, thereby “provoking” Russian servicemen to return fire, in order to then accuse the Russian army of destroying civilian objects.

The agency also reported that “from the dangerous regions of Ukraine and the republics of Donbass” the evacuation of residents to Russia continues, over the past 24 hours, 7.5 thousand people left from there, in total, 1 million 780 thousand people have been evacuated since the beginning of the special operation.

The agency recalled that in the Black and Azov Seas there are maritime humanitarian corridors for the exit of ships, but the danger remains in the Black Sea due to drifting mines.

Kissinger explained his words about concessions to Russia from Ukraine

The former US Secretary of State explained what he meant when he called in Davos to return “to the previous state of affairs.” Kissinger's statements made during the WEF were criticized by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky alt=”Kissinger explained his words about concessions to Russia by Ukraine” />

Henry Kissinger

Former Secretary of State (1973 & ndash; 1977) and National Security Adviser to the US President (1969 & ndash; 1975) Henry Kissinger explained his words about the need for territorial concessions for Russia from Ukraine: at the end of May, at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Kissinger said, in particular, that the West must influence Ukraine to resume peace talks. “Ideally, the dividing line should be a return to the previous state of affairs,” — said the 99-year-old politician at the time.

Commenting on these statements in an interview with ex-Google CEO Eric Schmidt in early June (video posted on YouTube), Kissinger explained that he had in mind a return to the state of affairs on February 24, before Russian troops took part of Ukrainian territory under control during a special operation. . According to the former secretary of state, the status of Crimea can be discussed only after that and when the parties agree on a ceasefire. “But journalists have shortened and simplified it,” — Kissinger said.

Speaking at the WEF, the former secretary of state also urged the West to stop trying to inflict a “crushing defeat on Russian forces in Ukraine”; and noted that Russia for more than 400 years has been an integral part of Europe and the guarantor of the European structure of the balance of power, so you can not “push Russia to a permanent alliance with China.”

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky criticized Kissinger's position. He said that the American politician seemed to be not in 2022 in Davos, but in 1938 in Munich, when an agreement was signed between Germany, Great Britain, Italy and France on the annexation of the Sudetenland of Czechoslovakia to Germany.

After his speech in Davos, Kissinger got into the database of the Ukrainian site “Peacemaker” (recognized as extremist and blocked in Russia) as “an accomplice in crimes against Ukraine.” The representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, suggested that he ended up in the database “for the presence of intelligence.”

Scholz vows to speed up North Macedonia’s accession to the EU

According to Scholz, the country has fulfilled all the necessary conditions for the EU to start negotiations. North Macedonia has been a candidate for 17 years, Bulgaria is against its membership

Olaf Scholz and Dimitar Kovachevsky in Skopje, North Macedonia

North Macedonia should join the European Union as soon as possible, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said during a visit to the country's capital Skopje, reports ARD.

The country has been an EU candidate since 2005. As Scholz pointed out, North Macedonia has been working hard all these years and the time has come “when all these efforts should bring a harvest.” He promised that he would personally make efforts to immediately launch negotiations on the country's accession to the union.

According to the Macedonian publication Evening, Scholz indicated that the country had met all the preconditions for starting negotiations. He also noted that Germany and North Macedonia have established close political and economic ties, so Germany will insist on the country's membership in the EU.

Macedonian Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevsky called the support from Germany “a great incentive to to build a prosperous society based on European values” and indicated that he considers Scholz's visit on the eve of the EU summit (23 & 24 June) to be a strong sign of support for the idea of Macedonian membership in the union.

North Macedonia— the second of the candidate countries in terms of the duration of waiting for accession to the EU (the first Turkey, which received candidate status back in 1999). Since 2009, the European Commission has been recommending the start of negotiations on the accession of North Macedonia to the EU, but it was only in 2020 that the current member states proposed a draft framework for negotiations. In the same year, Skopje joined NATO.

According to ARD, neighboring Bulgaria opposes the country's EU membership. Its authorities demand from North Macedonia that the Bulgarians living there be included in the Constitution and their rights be protected. Scholz also visited Sofia, where Bulgarian Prime Minister Kiril Petkov “clearly expressed Bulgaria's position on the conditions” that Skopje must fulfill, Nova TV reported. Scholz stressed in response that Germany understands that it is not easy to overcome historical problems.

Business Insider learned about Spain’s apologies to Germany for tanks for Kyiv
