It still works, still works (Yes, it does)
Still works, oh yeah, it still works (Oh yeah yeah yeah)
Still works, oh, it still works
It still works, oh, it still works
For your cancer, it still works, it still works (Oh yeah)
For your failures, it still works, it still works (Oh, my God)
For your disease, it still works, it still works (Oh, my God)
It still works, still works (What it did for me, He can do it for you, it still works)
Oh yes

[Verse 2: Chandler Moore, Ryan Ofei & Nicole Binion, Nicole Binion, (Chandler Moore)]
It still works, it still works
It’ll never lose its power
It’ll never lose its power
It’ll never lose its power (Get rid of your condemnation)
It’ll never lose its power (throw off your shame ’cause)
It’ll never lose its power (Cannot [?] the blood ’cause it’ll never)
It’ll nеver lose its power (Cannot [?] thе blood ’cause it’ll never)
It’ll never lose its power (that’s good news, that’s good news, that’s good news)
It’ll never lose its power (that’s good news, that’s good news, that’s good news ’cause)
It’ll never lose its power (Man may throw you away, but the blood will never)

It’ll never lose its power (It’ll never lose)
It’ll never lose its power

[Verse 1: Chandler Moore, (Nicole Binion & Ryan Ofei)]
It still works
Still works, still works
It still works (It still works)
Still works (Still works)
It still works (It still works)
Still works (Still works)
It still works (It still works)
Still works (Still works)
It still works (It still works)
Still works (Still works)

[Spontaneous: Chandler Moore, Ryan Ofei, and Nicole Binion]
It’ll never lose its power (Oh, it’s strong like that)
It’ll never lose its power (Oh)
There’s a generation that needs to hear that
It’ll never lose its power (Never lose its power)
‘Cause you have strucken out with everyone else
It’ll never lose its power (Never lose its power)
You failed everyone else
You made too much of a mess for everyone else (Never lose its power)
There’s a blood (It’ll never lose its power)
It’s ancient blood, but it’s still a new blood
Oh, it covers what you’ve done and what you will do
It still works
And it’ll never lose its power
It’ll never lose its power

[Spontaneous: Ryan Ofei]
I am covered by Your blood, yeah
I am covered by Your blood, yeah
I am covered by Your blood, oh
I am covered by Your blood
Blood of the Lamb, blood of the Lamb
I am covered by Your blood
Whatever else comes must pass over
I am covered, I am covered by oh
I am covered [?]
I am covered by Your blood
It washes over me
It makes me white as snow
I am covered, oh
[?] in Your blood, even the love of Your blood, O Lord
I am covered by Your blood
Oh, that scarlet blood
That was shed for me
I am covered by Your blood
There’s no place that He wouldn’t find me, mm
Even in the highest mountain or the lowest valley
You always find me
Your blood, it finds me, mm

[Chorus: Chandler Moore, Ryan Ofei, Nicole Binion & Ryan Ofei, Chandler Moore, Ryan Ofei, & Nicole Binion]
If you’re looking for me
Find me in the blood (Oh, yes)
If you wanna touch me
Find me in the blood (Yeah)
If you wanna come near me
I’m under the blood
If you’re looking for me (If you’re looking for me)
I’m under the blood (I’m under the blood)
If you’re looking for me (If you’re looking for me)
I’m under the blood
If you’re looking for me (Mm)
I’m under the blood, yeah (Oh)
If you’re looking for me
I’m under the blood
If you’re looking for me
I’m under the blood, yeah
The blood is my refuge
If you’re looking for me (For me)
I’m under the blood, ha
If you’re looking for me, oh
I’m under the blood (Shame, we’re talking to you)
If you’re looking for me
I’m under the blood (Condemnation, I’m talking to you)
If you’re looking for me (Oh yeah, oh yeah)
I’m under the blood (Sin, I’m talking to you)
If you’re looking for me (You can’t find me ’cause)
I’m under the blood (You can’t touch me ’cause)
If you’re looking for me (I’m under the blood)
I’m under the blood (My past, if you’re looking)
If you’re looking for me (Under the blood)
I’m under the blood (My past, if you’re looking)

I’m under the blood (If you’re looking)
If you’re looking for me, yeah
I’m under the blood (If you’re looking for me)
If you’re looking for me, yeah
I’m under the blood

[Spontaneous: Chandler Moore, Ryan Ofei, and Nicole Binion]
When I look around, all I see is the blood (Oh) (Oh)
Even if I look back to three to four years ago
When I was stuck in the pit
Had nowhere else to turn
Nowhere else to look
I couldn’t see it back then
As I look back I see the blood
I thought it had left me
But as I look back, I see the blood
I thought it forsook me
But as I look back, I see the blood (there on the Cross)
I thought I was unredeemable
But as I look back, I see the blood
You’re showing me the blood
It was there all along, I see the blood (It was there all along)

[Chorus: Chandler Moore, Chandler Moore, Ryan Ofei, & Nicole Binion, Nicole Binion & Ryan Ofei]
Now I can say if you’re looking for me
I’m under the blood, ha
If you’re looking for me (Oh yeah, oh yeah)
I’m under the blood (If you’re looking, if you’re looking)
If you’re looking for me (You can find me under)
I’m under the blood (If you’re looking, you’re looking)
If you’re looking for me (You can find me under)
I’m under the blood (If you’re looking)
If you’re looking for me (I’m under the blood)
I’m under the blood (If you’re looking)
If you’re looking for me (I’m under the blood)
I’m under the blood (If you’re looking)
If you’re looking for me (Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
I’m under the blood
If you’re looking for me (Under)
I’m under the blood

[Spontaneous: Ryan Ofei]
Oh, I’m marked by the blood (Marked by the blood)
Oh, I’m marked by the blood (Marked by the blood)
Oh, I’m kept by the blood (Kept by the blood)
Oh, I’m here by the blood (Here by the blood)
It has always been with me, yeah
I’m here by the blood
It’s part of my testimony
I’m kept by the blood
You went over my doorpost
And there was a passover
You went over my doorpost
And there was a passover
So if you’re looking for me
I’m under the blood

[Chorus: Chandler Moore & Ryan Ofei, Nicole Binion, Chandler Moore & Nicole Binion, (Ryan Ofei)]
If you’re looking for me, yeah
I’m under the blood (If you’re looking for me)
If you’re looking for me (I’m under the blood)
I’m under the blood (Looking for me)
If you’re looking for me (I’m under the blood)
I’m under the blood (I’m under the blood)

[Post-Chorus: Ryan Ofei]
Oh, I’m under the blood
I’m under the blood
I’m under the blood

[Spontaneous: Chandler Moore, (Ryan Ofei)]
My past can’t find me here (I’m under the blood)
Sin’s cycle can’t find me here (I’m under the blood)
Fornication can’t find me here (I’m under the blood)
Adultery can’t find me here (I’m under the blood)
Homosexuality can’t find me here (I’m under the blood)
I’m under the blood, under the blood (I’m under the blood)
You marked my doorpost
I’m under the blood

[Chorus: Chandler Moore, Ryan Ofei, & Nicole Binion]
If you’re looking for me
I’m under the blood
If you’re looking for me
I’m under the blood

[Outro: Chandler Moore]
If you try to throw my past in my face
Too bad, I’m under the blood
If you try to remind me of what I used to do, who I used to be
Too bad, I’m under the blood
It’s all for God and above
‘Cause I’m under the blood

G. Ry got me
OG Parker

[Chorus: DDG]
Sayin’, “Free the guys,” ’til my homie home
Gotta keep a Glock, niggas hating ’cause my money long
I can’t tweak over thots, I got other hoes
Brodie servin’ fiends on the block with a runny nose
He got Wock’, he got lean in his double cup
I just hit the ‘sino for a band, watch I double up
Shake that ass, shake that ass, bitch fuck it up
I’ma send yo’ ass to Miami for a tummy tuck

[Verse 1: DDG]
(Boom, boom) Hit his legs watch him walk it out
You was playin’ tough, why the fuck you wanna talk it out?
I just caught a nigga lackin’ at The Waffle House
Niggas know I’m drippin’ hella stupid when I’m poppin’ out
Bad bitch, she gon’ throw it back for a bunch of clout
Nigga say he want some smoke, it ain’t shit to knock him out
Rolls Royce, Richard Millie, I already spent a mil’
I was already rich, I ain’t really need a deal
I’ma change her life if I put her in this video
Flew her first class, she like “Daddy, where we finna go?”
Made it out the hood, 248 to the 310
Niggas hatin’, sayin’ I wouldn’t make it, I’m like “Say no more,” bitch

[Chorus: DDG]
Sayin’, “Free the guys,” ’til my homie home
Gotta keep a Glock, niggas hating ’cause my money long
I can’t tweak over thots, I got other hoes
Brodie servin’ fiends on the block with a runny nose
He got Wock’, he got lean in his double cup
I just hit the ‘sino for a band, watch I double up
Shake that ass, shake that ass, bitch fuck it up
I’ma send yo’ ass to Miami for a tummy tuck

[Verse 2: 42 Dugg]
Shake that ass, shake that bag, so you rad, huh? (You rad)
Look in the basement on the table, bring all five of them (Bring all them hoes)
Blew up his weap’, just keep the neck, ’cause bitch I’m divin’ in (Bitch)
Shot in the neck, came out the coma, you can die again
Judge say I can’t drive again, fuck I got these whips for?
Plug just sent me five, on my son, send me six more
Boy I travel with blunts, ’cause on my son, you can get smoked
Pass the weed, my nigga, pass the beans

[Verse 3: DDG]
I got this weed in my lungs and this shit dope
Don’t bring your bitch ’round me none, she gon’ get poked
She want a nigga with funds, but that bitch broke
Ain’t givin’ kisses with tongues, I’ll hit though
Humble as fuck, but I know that I’m lit though
I spent two mil’ on my crib, that ain’t shit though
I spent a million on whips, still rich though
I know they sleep, that’s okay, they can get woke, bitch

[Chorus: DDG]
Sayin’, “Free the guys,” ’til my homie home
Gotta keep a Glock, niggas hating ’cause my money long
I can’t tweak over thots, I got other hoes
Brodie servin’ fiends on the block with a runny nose
He got Wock’, he got lean in his double cup
I just hit the ‘sino for a band, watch I double up
Shake that ass, shake that ass, bitch fuck it up
I’ma send yo’ ass to Miami for a tummy tuck

[Verse 4: DDG]
Whole lot of hoes tryna get with me
Straight from the ‘Yak, but these foreign hoes feelin’ me
I be fuckin’ way too much, I’m out of energy
Or it’s from the gas, I be ballin’ at dispensaries
Broke niggas envy me, wanna put an end to me
Call me DDG, I’m not your bro, you ain’t no kin to me
Hit a nigga bitch and now I got her eyes rollin’ back
Made it out the ‘Yak, ain’t no fuckin’ way I’m goin’ back, bitch

[Verse 1]
Get up, nigga tryin’ hard like sit-ups (J.R.)
Nigga got caught in the field, he gon’ walk in the building chest out with his chin up
Nigga got robbed, why he ain’t got a big spot, hit him, bitch nigga won’t admit us
Nigga don’t keep it true to hisself, but a nigga gon’ do it, it ain’t no help like baow
It really don’t make that sound, it’s loud
That’s why I don’t make that sound
I really don’t sell no half or O’s
I’d rather just sell you pounds
I really wouldn’t say they give-and-gos
Let me see how they doin’ now
Might be some ruined now
Girl, how you doin’? She like

[Chorus]
She wanna be close to me, wanna feel my pain
She wanna be Northside, wanna be beside, wanna be my main
Pull up with thе heater out like thе meter out like, “Where my change?”
She like, “I wouldn’t do you, I wouldn’t do you that way”

[Verse 2]
But you did
You always talkin’ ’bout meds
Wake me up, fuck up my sleep
Who is this bitch on read?
She probably hang with the Bloods, but she fuck with the cholos, the yoyos and me
I had to say that shit quiet, she settin’ that shit up
Don’t tell the police what I’m doin’
They probably wouldn’t believe what I’m doin’
Like I’m gettin’ money, the crew get it too, never givin’ out leaks what I’m doin’
Get a call like, “I’m out front”
Let her in, that’s all she want
Better yet, let’s smoke a blunt
And she know I got demons, she ain’t leavin’ all because

[Chorus]
She wanna be close to me, wanna feel my pain
She wanna be Northside, wanna be beside, wanna be my main
Pull up with the heater out like the meter out like, “Where my change?”

She like, “I wouldn’t do you, I wouldn’t do you that way”

[Outro]
That’s hard, that’s hard, yeah
Woah, ayy, ayy, ayy, ayy
Oh, ayy, ayy, ayy, ayy
She wanna be close to me, wanna feel my pain
She wanna be Northside, wanna be beside, wanna be my main
Pull up with the heater out like the meter out like, “Where my change?”
She like, “I wouldn’t do you, I wouldn’t do you that way”
Oh, ayy, I wouldn’t do you, I wouldn’t do you that way (TayTay made the beat)
I wouldn’t, really, ayy
I wouldn’t do you, I wouldn’t do you
She said she wanna be around a nigga
Like, I really got demons and shit
So shit, I, I mean
It’s crazy that, or cool that you like to be around a nigga, you feel me?
Pull up like, “Nigga, give me that shit” (Murda on the beat, so it’s not nice)

What about your feelings, how you feelin’ ’bout it? Wait

Steve Harvey Says Michael B. Jordan Is The Right Man For Lori Harvey

Steve Harvey seems to approve of his daughter Lori Harvey’s new boyfriend, Michael B. Jordan but doesn’t think he’s worthy of one title.

In an interview, the fame comedian and Talk Show host said Lori’s boyfriend – the stunner and Black Panther star Michael B. Jordan raised the bar impressively high even for himself. Jordan, who is also named People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive, has been dating Lori Harvey and has lavished her with fancy dates while declaring his love for his “turtle,” the pet name he gave her.

Lori Harvey, on the other hand, has a controversial dating history which internet bullies won’t let her forget. She became widely known for dating rapper Future, who is notorious for fathering many children with different children and even denying some while being accused of failing to support others.

After breaking up with Future, Harvey sparked rumors of dating Jordan. The relationship was confirmed with various photos captured of the two enjoying vacations and private dinners together.

Steve Harvey doesn’t seem to mind his daughter dating the Black Panther actor, but he does share his concern that Jordan’s lavish romantic gestures will need to be kept up.

“This kid, I like him man…” Steve said.

He also has words of caution for Michael B. Jordan in response to the interviewer asking about him renting out a romantically decorated aquarium for Lori for Valentine’s Day “Good Luck homie, because Valentine’s Day comes every year, I don’t know if you know how this works or not but I don’t know how you gon top that but good luck partner…it was really nice what he did, you know, I’m happy for him, he’s a great guy, I met his father and everything but that was a lot, I don’t know where he’ll go from here so maybe he’ll make Creed 4, 5, and 6.”

Meanwhile, Marjorie Harvey, Lori’s mother, also seems to approve of the relationship as she comments approvingly under her daughter’s posts each time she makes posts of the couple.

Sean Paul’s Anti-Clash Dancehall Message Resonates With Vershon & Jahmiel

Sean Paul’s anti-clash message in dancehall may have resonated with Vershon, who squashed his beef with Jahmiel and announced his debut EP.

Dancehall has produced a number of rivalries throughout its existence, and many of them are still active and alive today. One of the most popular rifts in the dancehall community over the past decade was between Vershon and Jahmiel, who are both now well established acts in the genre. Urban Islandz reported that the two have finally put their differences aside after years of beefing and trading lyrical jabs.

Jahmiel revealed that he initiated the peace treaty for the benefit of the community that is often divided. Recently Sean Paul acknowledged this when he announced his new project that features a score of dancehall artists, stating that it’s “collaboration over confrontation.” Speaking of which, Vershon and Jahmiel have since spoken and worked together on a production that should arrive sometime in 2021.

Vershon expressed the importance of coming together for the greater good of the genre. “Dancehall is a very competitive sport, and at times, our egos will get the best of us,” the singjay said. “We all make missteps in life because no one is perfect but what is more important is recognizing them, and getting to a place where we can become selfless and do what is right, not just for ourselves but also for those who see us as mentors.”

Vershon / IG @vershonmusic

Vershon’s upcoming project is a 6-track EP titled Only One, and it is due out on March 5. Produced by British outfit FaNaTix and distributed by Warner ADA, Only One is the dancehall star’s first project since penning a distribution deal with Warner Music (UK) through Saint Music/Parlophone. Vershon says he is really excited about the impending EP after gaining the backing of a huge label. “The EP has six songs featuring a carefully curated array of guests including Chip, Trillary Banks, and Busy Signal,” he said about the project.

“I feel good about the next stage of my career, of which this is the first chapter. It’s a team now, it’s with a big label. It’s well put together. I’m very excited about that. We’ve just released the third single called ‘Stick By Me,’ along with a video. The previous releases are “Original” and “Reality,” both of which continue to do very well across the region,” Vershon added.

Vershon and Jahmiel also record similarly-themed music that touches on the harsh reality in our community while pushing a conscious message. The two of them coming together to create music should be interesting to hear what they come up with. Both dancehall stars have solid catalogs between including some respectable collabs. Jahmiel has in the past recorded with Shenseea and his fellow MVP comrade Mavado.

Vershon and Jahmiel’s piece comes in the midst of Sean Paul’s strong message against clash culture in dancehall. While some artists like Bounty Killer will disagree with SP’s message, it’s resonating with a lot of other artists. A strong argument can be made that clash is part of the fabric of dancehall, but Sean Paul’s argument is that it’s also part of the reason why the genre is not bigger than it is. This argument is forcing even the most die-hard clash artist to pause and listen to what the legend is saying. And yes, the Kingston deejay’s words do carry a lot of weight, given he is among the most commercially successful dancehall artists of all time.

As a backup for his strong words in support of unity and collaboration, Sean Paul is getting ready to release a full length album, Live N Livin, packed with 15 collaborations.

“It was important to me to show that in our genre of dancehall, we don’t need to clash in order to attain the spotlight,” Sean Paul explained. “We don’t need to divide our fans to attain the rotations on the airwaves or streams. Over the years myself, Shaggy, and more recently Koffee, Shenseea and others are tapping into the world stage and we are not clashing our co-workers, nor are we dividing our fans. This album ‘Live N Livin’ is an album I hold very dear to my heart because it shows the effort of collaboration over confrontation.”

Are you looking forward to hearing Vershon’s new EP and a joint track from him and Jahmiel?

Bobby Shmurda Explains Why He Declined Drink From A Female In This Viral Video

Bobby Shmurda has reacted to a video of him making the rounds.

The New York rapper sent fans into a frenzy on Friday night after a viral video surfaced of him in the club and refusing a drink in a cup from a white woman. Many of his fans applauded him for making the right choice of denying the cup, which presumably had alcohol in it. In the viral video, Bobby Shmurda is seen wearing a Dior branded shirt as he sits with his mask on.

A female offers a cup that looks like a shot glass with what many thinks contain alcohol, but Bobby Shmurda quickly reacts as he uses his right-hand index finger to wave back and forth to indicate no to the drink, and then he politely raises a water bottle in his hand to indicate he isn’t drinking.

Of course, his fans became suspicious that someone was filming at the same time the drink is offered and commended him for refusing. Shmurda, on the other hand, reacted to the video as he confirmed that one of his probation conditions is to not use any substance. He is on probation until 2026 after serving six (6) years in jail.

The viral video was apparently taken at his welcome home party hosted by family and friends, and the woman who offered the drink is said to be a bottle service girl. The rapper reacted to the video to drive home his point of never going back to jail by saying “hell nah a n***a on parole playas” with the goofy face emoji.

Shmurda became news headlines this week following his release from jail and being picked up by friend Quavo in a private jet. Videos of his happy and jubilant family were shared online. It seems that the rapper’s time behind bars has not only seen him physically mature, but he is also mentally mature as he appreciates the consequences that come with breaching his parole conditions.

In a video released shortly after his release from prison, Bobby Shmurda told Meek Mill that “I’ll be light-skinned in Jamaica before I go back,” in reference to not returning to jail. The rapper is of Jamaican descent.

K. Michelle & Keyshia Cole End Beef And Teases Joint Album

K. Michelle says she is a bigger person now after making amends with Keyshia Cole, after a longstanding feud.

A lot of people who stay up to date on the happenings in hip-hop are well aware of the constant feud between K. Michelle and Keyshia Cole. Though not so versed on how it all began, most of us have at least witnessed a jab or two exchanged by them. Fans believe that Michelle is often the instigator, so it came as much surprise to them when she announced that she finally squashed the beef with her longtime rival.

Taking to Twitter to be the first to get her quote noted in the rift-ending chapter of their story, K. Michelle told fans that she and Keyshia Cole made up real good. So good, in fact, that she’s putting fans on alert about a possible collaborative effort between her and Cole. “So last night on clubhouse was a great moment for the culture,” K. Michelle wrote. “Me and @KeyshiaCole squashed any little misunderstandings we had like adults and sang songs together all night. Y’all might even see a joint EP.”

It must have been a truly great moment indeed, especially for those who may have witnessed it. The move seems to already have had a positive impact on K. Michelle herself, who usually appears to thrive off the drama by reigniting beefs and issuing unsolicited confrontational retorts.

In a second tweet, K. Michelle assured fans that her mindset has now been enlightened. “I’m all about positivity and making great music with some great people,” she wrote.

Do you think this is a new beginning for K. Michelle and that we will actually see a joint project from her and Keyshia Cole?

So last night on clubhouse was a great moment for the culture. Me and @KeyshiaCole squashed any little misunderstandings we had like adults and sang songs together all night. Y’all might even see a joint EP?????

Shenseea Cooking In The Studio With NY Rapper Lil Tjay Who Is In Jamaica

Shenseea and New York rapper Lil Tjay are cooking in the studio.

Shenseea has let the cat out of the bag! The sultry songstress revealed that she is working on new music with none other than one of Hip Hop’s finest- Lil TJay who is presently in Jamaica. On Saturday, a naturally beautiful and make-up-free Shenseea shared videos on her stories with her relaxing and singing lyrics from one of Tjay’s latest songs. She also teased a new collab with the American artist along with photographs with herself and Lil Tjay, as well as a photo of her with Lil Tjay looking on at the sound engineer while he worked his magic. Her caption was “all we do is work,” while the post was co-signed by her manager Romeich with the comment, “the devil work hard but @shenseea works harder.”

Lil Tjay arrived on the island on February 22, and it’s pretty clear he isn’t letting YK Osiris alone have all the fun as he too has flown to Jamaica and is living it up in an undisclosed location that includes a luxury villa with a private beach surrounded by lush greenery. Last week YK Osiris singlehandedly entertained Jamaicans and many abroad with his joy and excitement being in Jamaica as he explored parts of the island which included playing with Crocodiles and horseback riding.

Shenseea / Lil Tjay in the studio

In videos on his Instagram stories, Lil Tjay showed off stacks of money- about 400k Jamaican dollar- the equivalent of U$2,600 as he flies over the beaches and the Caribbean Sea to an undisclosed location. Fans, however, fans found his antics hilarious and trolled him as the value of the Jamaican dollar was very low compared to the US dollar.

The rapper’s chopper eventually lands at a private villa overlooking the sea, which he is seen exploring as he shows off the villa and the outdoor pool.

Lil Tjay seems to be enjoying the local offerings as he shows off his curry goat and fried plantain meal as a server asks his preference for juice, to which he replies- “pineapple juice.”

The Patois bug has also bitten Lil TJay, who is also a Bronx native, as he could also be heard speaking in the native accent that has captivated the world! The Bronx has a large Jamaican contingent, so that shouldn’t come as a surprise.

While he’s on vacation, he’s certainly earned it as his latest song, “Calling My Phone,” a collaboration with 6Lack, is now number 3 on Billboard’s Hot 100 singles chart, and he’s hoping the song rises to number one. The song is led by “Drivers Licence” by Olivia Rodrigo at No. 1 and “34+35” by Ariana Grande at No. 2.

The song is also No. 1 on streaming platforms Spotify and Apple Music within a week of launching in the United States and is in the No. 3 on the global Spotify list.

Lil Tjay has been on the up since first coming on the scene in 2017 with his hit song “Resume” and “Brothers” on the SoundCloud platform. The rapper, who is now 19 years old, is now one of the youngest and successful in the industry. Of course, one of his closest friends, YK Osiris, has been an ardent supporter of his latest song.

Dej Loaf Reacts To Fans Accusing Coi Leray Of Copying Her Sound In New Song

Fans think Coi Leray gives them Dej Loaf vibes, but she’s not crediting the rapper for her sound.

The sound variations from artist to artist in hip-hop has always allowed the space for multiple sonically pleasing forms of the art to exist simultaneously. Though the genre has certainly evolved, the thing that stuck from the myriad of guests that the culture has had over the years is melody. So popular is the style of rapping today, the Academy added a category for ‘Melodic Rap Song’ to their roster. While many artists in hip-hop now consider themselves melodic rappers, there are still those whose unique sound is a stand out among the rest.

An early breakout act into this new wave was Dej Loaf, one of the first female rappers to dabble in the style. Her 2014 song “Try Me” opened the gate to a new sound that is still influencing hip-hop today. Fans believe that rapper Coi Leray seems to be borrowing Dej Loaf’s sound without credit, and both rappers chimed in on the growing speculation.

For days, Twitter has been buzzing with conversations comparing the two female artists’ music. One fan straight up said, “Coi Leray sounds like Dej Loaf.” When Leray caught wind of the discussion, she was first to set the record straight. “Coi Leray sounds like Coi Leray,” she noted on Twitter. The message prompted a reply from Dej Loaf, who wrote, “Well I sholl wish my folks stop hitting me about it [crying laughing emoji] pissing me and my homegirls off! Congrats tho Coi [balloon emoji].”

A post shared by Big Trend Setter (@coileray)

Interestingly enough, Dej Loaf may not be entirely convinced after all. The rapper cosigned a tweet that read, “We need to give Dej Loaf her flowers” and “Dej Loaf got a lot of kids if we being honest,” clearly indicating that she doesn’t disagree. Moreover, Dej Loaf wrote another message on Twitter that read: “Lil Copy Tail Selves.”

With the oversaturation of hip-hop artists in the music industry, there has to be room for similar sounds now and then, and the topic has certainly occasionally reared its controversial head. However, fans are fixated on Coi Leray, seemingly deriving her sound from Dej Loaf’s.

You be the judge by listening to a snippet from each of these artists. Do you agree that Leray is copying Dej’s sound?

“Memory” – Popcaan Goes Anime In New Anti-Fake Friend Anthem

Popcaan delivered an animated video for his new Dunwell-produced track titled “Memory.”

The track comes with a familiar theme fake people and how prevalent they are in today’s society. It’s a topic frequently addressed by Popcaan, who continuously shows that he is able to gel with just about everyone while keeping his authenticity. Poppy sings: “A carbon copy dem … dawg yuh nuh need glasses fi see seh dem don’t real. Dem a trial and crosses, mi see it seh dem don’t real.”

The deejay also provides some guidance on how to protect one’s self from fake individuals. Poppi is not afraid to take matters into his own hands to exact justice on any force that opposes him. “Cant depend pon di sup’ or the sarge’, big matic mi give to my dawgs … If dem ever make me feel like mi 3 points don’t safe, den mi guns dem closer,” Poppy sings.

Popcaan has been very busy in the studio this year and has already released tracks like “Relevant,” “Win,” and “Medal.” He also released a 4-track EP, “Gyalentines,” on Valentine’s Day. So far, the project has been well-received by dancehall fans as the Unruly Boss continues to master the art of making perfectly crafted female anthems.

While the pandemic has slowed down the entertainment industry, and most artists are dropping fewer new music, Popcaan still manages to release a consistent supply of new content for his growing fanbase. Perhaps he picked up some of Vybz Kartel and Drake’s work ethics after being mentored by both superstars.

You can check out some cool animation and hear just what Popcaan is serving up in “Memory” from the video below.

Maino Details Story Of An Elaborate Bow Wow Flex Backfiring

One of Bow Wow’s elaborate flexes ended miserably according to Maino.

Shad Moss simply cannot keep himself out of the media, and it seems there is always a bit of flexing attached to the story. His list of outlandish and sometimes completely fluffed claims has grown in stature, ultimately leading to even the most believable of acts from Moss being labeled as fake. A few weeks back, Bow Wow was ridiculed for packing nearly a dozen women into a tiny boat in Miami. The rapper/actor insisted that he was en route to a much larger yacht, but the explanation has not been sufficient for everyone.

In a separate incident some years ago, Bow Wow tried to trick fans into thinking he was flying private, only to be photographed at a window seat on a commercial flight.

Joe Budden / Maino

It seems there are a lot more Bow Wow stories tucked away, and Brooklyn rapper Maino decided to make one fly during a recent interview. Maino spoke with the crew on the Kitchen Talk podcast when he spoke of what happened after he and Bow Wow went partying in New York. According to the Brooklyn rapper, Moss requested that he walked out of the club with him that night.

“He like, ‘Yo, my car is around the corner,” Maino recounted. “We get around the corner and my car is parked right where I thought his driver was at — where he said his driver was at. So I seen a black truck. He’s like ‘My car’s right there.’ I’m like, ‘Cool.’ We standing there talking… I guess, like, maybe somebody was waiting for me to leave first or we just vibing. And then he’s like, ‘Yo, I’m out.’ And when he went to leave, I’m like, ‘Oh, he jumping in the truck.’ He went into the street and flagged down a taxi cab… I thought this was your driver?”

Cardi B Refused To Take Tekashi 6ix9ine Bait: “I won’t make the same mistake twice”

Cardi B says she’s not making the same mistake twice amidst 6ix9ine trolling her.

Tekashi 6ix9ine made a dramatic return to social media with his recent run-in with Meek Mill in Atlanta. While that in itself sparked enough conversation to accommodate a successful new single or video, the rapper is already on to the next one after releasing his song “Zaza,” which features a soundbite from the confrontation with Meek.

Taking to Instagram to start trolling his next victim, the controversial New York rapper alluded to Cardi B when he shared a poll on Instagram Stories asking, “If I took women to hotels, drugged them, and then robbed them, would I be canceled?”

6ix9ine was clearly taking a jab at the Hustlers star who once admitted to drugging and robbing men in her previous career. She seemingly addressed the shot Tekashi69 took at her with her own post on her Instagram Story. “I will never let NOBODY take advantage of me again!” Cardi B wrote. “The industry is weird but I won’t make the same mistake twice,” she added in a second post.

DJ Akademiks shared a screenshot of Cardi’s sentiments on his page, causing Tekashi 6ix9ine to react in the comments. “Bill Cosby went to jail… remember that boys,” the rapper wrote, suggesting that there is a gender double standard.

Tekashi 6ix9ine has made a whole career out of trolling, so the fact that he instigated this and is happily chiming in on the aftermath comes as no surprise. However, Cardi B is showing growth, and as she said, she learned from her mistake. It is probably wise of Cardi not to speak on the controversy again, and I think her PR team would agree.

Tekashi 6ix9ine being a professional troller, has become quite good at drawing people out, but he doesn’t seem to be getting the better of Cardi B so far. Do you think 6ix9ine will continue to troll the “Up” rapper?

Blue Sky Black Death – Away With Me Lyrics

[Good – Bye]
Oh how I’m so far away
I won't need to die today
I must go into? the sea
And carry you away with me
Oh I will hold your mouth in mine
Like I have time after time
Give you all breath real slowly
Take your heart beats silently
It will be mine no heart of mine

No more will taste of your kind
Sink in the cold absence
Lay you down for your decedent
This will be the darkest time
To see your body part from mine
Watch the water rest
Oh how time may will do that
[Good Bye]

Tangerine Dream – Mad Song Lyrics

The wild winds weep
and the night is a-cold;
Come hither, sleep,
and my griefs infold :
but lo ! The morning peeps
ove the eastern steeps,
and the rustling birds of dawn
the earth do scorn.

Lo ! To the vault
of paved heaven,
with sorrow fraught
my notes are driven :

they strike the ear of night,

make weep the eyes of day ;
They make mad the roaring winds,
and with tempests play.

Like a fiend in a cloud,
with howling woe,
after night I do crowd,
and with night will go;
I turn back to the easat,
from whence comforts have increa´d;
For light doth seize my brain with frantic pain.

Robert Palmer – One Last Look Lyrics

Well it seems such a long time
Since our love had it’s day
You hope it knew the times I tried not let you slip away
Not always eye to eye looking at what’s new
You know it wont be easy, being without you

You have to go, is there something you must find?
Take one last look at love baby
Take one last look at the love we’re leaving behind
One last look, there’ll be no more making your mind up
One last look at love oh oh

I realise you’re changing
You know it needs to be
I didn’t know this trust in you would take your love from me

We gave each other something we outgrew yesterdayI hope that you remember, how love it was with me

You have to go, is there something you must find?
Take one last look at love baby
Take one last look at the love we’re leaving behind
One last look, there’ll be no more making your mind up
One last look at love
You have to go, is there something you must find?
Take one last look at loveTake one last look at the love we’re leaving behind
One last look, there’ll be no more making your mind up
One last look , one last look at love

Zenglen – Woy Kreyol Lyrics

[Intro]
Kreyòl
Lavi nou nan men Bondye!

[Chorus]
Mo fe re kofi awo
O ba lewa Erin O ba lewa atileba gan
Kreyol yi lewa yi gbona
O ba lewa Erin O ba lewa atileba gan

[Verse 1]
Yo di Kreyòl, tout sa ki cho
Yo di Kreyòl, mizik agogo
Se de beaux sourires
Resite bèl ti pwezi
Yon jèn fi mouye anba lapli
Un tableau qui n'a pas de prix

[Chorus]

[Verse 2]
Yo di Kreyòl, istwa nou pa diferan
Yo di Kreyòl, nou reyaji menm jan
Menm si nou pati ale n on lòt peyi
Au fond on reste les mêmes
Penser autrement c’est pas la peine
On vient de la Caraïbe, partage nos habitudes
Yon pla manje nou separe, yon sigarèt nou fimen l a de
[Bridge]
Yon tase kafe mèsi cheri
Bonjou lavi, on ti souri
Yon sigarèt, ban m alimèt

Nan manje a pa gen mèt
2-3 zanmi yon kout kleren
N aprann viv ak sa n genyen
Se vre culture nou melanje, men yon kote nou tout rankontre

[Hook]

[Bridge]
Kreyòl pale an parabòl
Se mwen, se ou, anyen ki dwòl
Ou vini ban mwen 2 ti bo
Nou ka manje pandan li cho
Couleur café, c’est doux sucré
Ban m chokola nenpòt jan l ye

[Hook]
Kreyol chante, Kreyòl konprann
Rezilta pi rèd
Epi n ale

[Keyboard solo]
Zenglen anlè on menm bato

Ou rele m, karese m Miyonen m
Ban m sikre pou yo

[Bridge]

[Hook]

Journey – All That Really Matters Lyrics

See the headlines
Have you heard the news
They’re tryin’ to turn the world upside down
We sit and watch it on TV
Programmed prophets trying to bring us down

Give us a break now
We know it can’t all be bad news
Let’s get away now
Cause when I’m holding on to you

We’re all, we’re all that really matters
The time is now
For taking our own chances
We’re all, all that really matters

More brain power
Just to keep alive
Some computer trying to shut you down
The world powers watchin’ the way you live
On a mission pushing us around

Give us a break now
No way we’re gonna lose
We’ll find a way now
Cause when I’m making love to you

We’re all, we’re all that really matters
The time is now
For taking our own chances
We’re all, all that really matters

I wanna love you
I’m gonna try to make it right
Nothing can touch you
We’ll make a dream come true tonight

We’re all, we’re all that really matters
The time is now
For taking our own chances
We’re all, all that really matters

We’re all, we’re all that really matters
We’re all, all that really matters
